Thunderbolt 5 cable

Is using Apple's new TB 5 cable to connect my base Mac Mini M4 to my Samsung M7 monitor overkill? Will I see any advantages in terms of video quality?

Overkill and you won’t notice anything for most current products connected to an Apple device. If Apple creates a ProMotion display you might see one come in the box but for 60Hz there would be no gain.

Or as others make equipment- including displays- that can utilize TB5 too, people might see benefits. It's obviously not limited to only Apple creations.

The prices on the TB 4 pro cables are even higher and I don't need more than a meter.

Still, 6' USB-C DP cables aren't much more than $10-15....
