did you end up getting your adapter?

Contacted Seagate yesterday, and they said "um, well, uh, looks like it is back ordered (even though it was NOT when I ordered it) and we should be getting a batch in on Friday (2/10) and yours should ship then". They indicated I should get an email with tracking info, when it ships....

So, no, have not received it... Hey, MAC, where did you get yours?

Hey guys, i'm new to this stuff. This is the Go-flex with a Samsung 830 256GB.

I just got my shipping confirmation!

It's literally 2 weeks to the day that I ordered the Seagate Thunderbolt external adapter - and I finally got some sort of shipping confirmation.

This isn't really how I wanted my first post to the forums to be - as I've been reading for awhile - but I just wanted to share with you.

Good luck!

Edit: Shipping info has been updated - and it's arriving.... today?!

Yes!

What time of the day did you order yours if you don't mind me asking? I ordered mine early on the same day 2/1 and still haven't received any info?

I just looked back at my original order confirmation - and I believe that I received that at 8am CST February 1st.
If I remember correctly, I woke up at 5am, saw this post and immediately ordered it.
So, I think it's safe to say that I ordered it around 5:15am CST, February 1st.

So mine finally arrived yesterday. A fresh Super Duper clone of my internal drive took about half as long as over Firewire 800...

Have another drive that I'll be moving some of my vmWare images to and will see if that makes a difference in their performance. Still have not procured an SSD drive to test.

edit: Oh, ordered mine on 1/30, got the order confirmation email at 1:30AM on the 31st.

Is this adapter for the Goflex portable drives or the Goflex Desk line?

The current shipping adapter is for the portable drives, but there is a desk line in the works for later this year. It will have two Thunderbolt connections, which will allow daisy chaining, where the existing portable adapter does not.

----------

Sigh, so have had my adapter for a while now, and was quite happily moving files around to take advantage of it, when in the past 24 hours have had multipl problems. 4 times my Macbook Pro has simply frozen when the firewire adapter is connected. Several times (3 or 4, not certain which) one of the two partitions on one of my drives unmounted with the red stop sign error that said I had disconnected a drive without ejecting it. The other partition on the drive was still connected and working...

Very annoying, anyone else experiencing any issues with this adapter? Tried to post in the Seagate user forums on seagate.com, but their site would not let me login with a 'we are having problems' message.

Everyone else doing great? Is it just me?

I have a Goflex 1tb formatted NTFS with the latest version of Paragon NTFS from Seagate, a 2011 macbook air that is 100% up to date, and the Thunderbolt adapter and Apple thunderbolt cable. The drive works fine via thunderbolt for transfers and so on, and mounts fine each time. However, it will not unmount, there is no way to eject it other than to unplug it and then reboot. When you hit the eject button either in Finder or Disk utility, the name of the drive greys out and causes various Finder problems and unresponsiveness, and you can't re-mount the drive at this point other than by rebooting first.

If you order a backordered Thunderbolt adapter, just wait it out, mine took more than 3 weeks to ship. It came the other day. It's damned fast, but with this problem, it's pretty worthless. I may try formatting it soon.

EDIT:
Fixed the problem. With what was going on, I couldn't unmount the drive. So I plugged it into my PC with USB and formatted it to FAT which then let me plug it back into the mac with the regular USB 2.0 and format it to HFS+. It worked fine with ejecting/mounting with HFS+. After that I put on the Thunderbolt adapter, still worked fine. I then reformatted it to NTFS and now it's working great with the Thunderbolt adapter. If anyone has problems it seems that if you make sure you have the version of Paragon that comes from Seagate, plus you give it a fresh format once the Thunderbolt adapter is on, that may do the trick.

Still having issues with mine. Sporadic 'freezes' of my system, forcing a hard power off. When it works it's great, but I don't understand what is causing the hangs...

I 'assume' that no one else is having these hangs, but... Can't get into the Seagate site to open a ticket, so left a message on their Facebook page.

Sigh.

Seems the Seagate support folks on their Facebook support page are very responsive. Would have talked with them on the phone today, if there had been time, but will likely chat with them tomorrow.
