Thanks... do you know if the mall lets people in before 10am? Their website doesn't say, but we all know old folks love to walk the mall early.

Yes, the FAN must be removed and also the Business Indicator flag. See this thread for more info: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/518811/

Do you remove the business indicator flag the same way you remove the discount? I removed my discount this past Sunday.

I was at Penn Square Mall in OKC today around 12:30pm.

The line seemed to be about 50 people deep from what I saw. I asked the person at the end if she knew how many phones they had, she didn't know. I wasn't looking at getting one, so I just moved on.

I don't know if they had enough stock for all the people in line, but I was a little surprised to see such a long line, its almost been a week, but then again, OKC is rather large for just ONE Apple Store.

Last year, I bought my phone about a month after launch, no lines or availability issues then.

I dont get it. How can they NOT know how many they have? I mean I went to an ATT and we all waited for an hour then they said sorry, we only got 25. I mean you can't count 25? Is that THAT difficult?

I had to speak to like 5 or 6 different people at AT&T... went to an AT&T store and they didn't know what I was talking about. Finally called and I got transferred to someone who had some authority and knew what they were doing. I don't think this applies to everyone, but if the Apple store says you get an IRU Error and you have already had your FAN removed, then this might be your problem.

Nah, the person in line had no idea how many the store had. Maybe she missed the announcement from the store, or maybe they didn't say anything.

All I know is, I am never going to wait in a line like that for a phone. And I am damn sure not waiting for one without knowing how many they have.

Or, she lied to me.

Whats the line looking like there? When i went on monday they had white 16 and black 8gb... After waiting online I didnt end up with one beceause I was not the account holder... walked across the way to AT&T which might have been a mistake... I feel like that AT&T store has more DF orders to fill than any others because its so close to an Apple.

How are the lines at cambridgeside now? I might go on over and see if I cant get one before my DF order comes in (which it never will)

Walked past today at about 1pm, probably about 12 people in line. Seemed like they had the phones to cover it.

You sir, suck. We now return to your regularly scheduled program..

:p:D Seriously though, congrats!

Thanks, still working this thing as its my first iphone, I like AIM a lot, works well for what I need it for.

Tice's Corner Apple Store woodcliff Lake NJ. I was in and out within 45 mins. Got my 16GB black took my FAN discount off while on line came home and added it back on and everything is PERFECT!!!!!!

Drove by Bethesda Row at 10:30 and saw a line. Of course, I couldn't resist standing in the line too. I was about #16 with some 8GBs and a load of 16BGs in black available. Call it 2.5 hours later I had the one I wanted. I had no problems, but there were a lot of people having AT&T issues.

The whole process just seems destined to suck. I expect better.

I was in the St Louis Galleria Apple store yesterday when I got my phone and they would not reveal any numbers to the people waiting in line; I'm now in Minneapolis (Ridgedale Apple store) looking for a case this AM and the same situation happened where the staff deliberately did not reveal any numbers of iPhones that had been shipped there today.

Not sure why they do this, but it appears to be common practice for the Apple stores.

Cool! Congrats, thanks for the update. Hope they have some tomorrow :) God, I swore I wouldn't wait in line again but I guess I'll have to...

Littleton (Aspen Grove)

Line was crazy long inside the store - but, it looked as if they had some iPhones in stock!

I picked mine up opening day :)

Yeah, they recieve stock during the day and end up selling out before the 9pm stock update. I've been the last 2 days after work and the line has been cut off by 4pm. Guess I'll just have to keep checking.

i may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the tysons stock indicator changed last night after it was initially posted - wonder if they're doing TRUE close-of-business stock updates now, given how testy customers are getting when morning stock doesn't match previous night's availability?

also, i'm increasingly beginning to think it's going to be a good two weeks before we start seeing walk-in/walk-out purchases here in the dc metro area.

I agree, I hope it gets better after this weekend. I have a feeling they won't be fully stocked and ready to go this weekend when, IMO, that a lot of people who couldn't stand in line this week will get out and try to get one.

I just walked by the Tyson's store on a break and the line was prob 50 people long. Might check back after work to see if they cut the line off early again toinght or not.

right... which will cascade into next weekend, maybe the one after, and so on. it's a shame in-store activation has made this the ordeal it has.

even with rainforest cafe exorcised from tysons, i'll be damned if i'm staying in that mall for more than an hour!

though, i think with a little probability theory and the right data you could probably figure out where you're most likely to find an iphone with minimal wait :)

edit >> my thanks as well for the line info!

Freehold

I went to the Freehold NJ store this afternoon at 2.15 and there was a line. They had 8GB and 16GB black in stock. I picked up a 16! ;)

Pentagon City, Arlington, VA

Went by around 5:30 today and according an Apple employee they had phones, but they had closed the line (only about 10 people in the line at the time). To make matters worse, the guy in line in front of me at the 7-11 on the way home pulled out a new phone as he went to pay.

why is apple randomly closing the line? are they trying to put on the perception that this launch doesn't suck? because it does and they should have a better system

Just an update on the Tysons and Clarendon stores. I went by Tyson's corner again to wait in line and they had closed the line saying they had just enough in sock for the people in line (more like I think the line was longer than the mall was going to be open, but not sure about that).

I went over to Clarendon, closer to home, and the line was open but employees wouldn't give stock updates, just saying they "had some left". Waited about 20 min and an employee came to tell us there were no more 16G Black but they still had 16G White and 8G Black. I left wanting a 16G Black :( Oh well there is always tomorrow when I am off all day!!

Just thought that might be helpful for all those in the NoVa area wondering about stock.
