The ram and adapter(tested on 400mhz) are tested and work. Tried detaching the pram. The model is a 1ghz dvi tibook. Cant find a solution online.
I get a solid beep with headphones and i dont have a hdd in the disc drive spins for a second (it worked while it had a cd inside)Is there a chime if you plug in headphones?
Does the HDD spin up? Or does the ODD make a little mechanical noise when you press power?
If you disconnect the HDD and/or the ODD, does it get any further?
It’s pretty likely a failed logic board. The 1Ghz model is notorious for cooking itself.
The 867 and 667 models run a lot cooler as a drop in board replacement (the 2nd fan won’t connect to a 667 board though), but the extended heatsink from the 1GHz model will aid in cooling things even further.
Ram fixed it now i hear the chime but i still dont have image. Where do the speakers plug in?A single beep indicates no RAM installed or failed to recognize the RAM. Try a few different modules and configurations. If that results in no change then the logic board is faulty.
Nothing when i shine a light but when turned on lower two thirds/half of the screen have a square like pattern on them. Will it maybe work with dvi to hdmi adapter plugged into the port?If you shine a torch through the back of the Apple logo do you see anything on screen? If so then the backlight or inverter board has failed.
I would try taking off the bottom case and reseating all of the visible connections. The speaker plug is a 4 pin connector at the opposite side to the power input.
It is possible for the backlight inverter to fail (this is the board mounted on the optical drive assembly when you pop off the bottom case), but it is far more common that the backlight CCFL tube has either been damaged due to impact or just burnt out. Replacing the tube is possible but it’s quite a job. See my thread: Titanium Repair Thread (continued) for full details.
Try the external monitor, if it's booting but the screen is dead it should still output to another display.Nothing when i shine a light but when turned on lower two thirds/half of the screen have a square like pattern on them. Will it maybe work with dvi to hdmi adapter plugged into the port?
I have no problems fixing my PB 1.67 DLSD, but it seems the TI G4 models are harder to fix even for simple things. If you shine a torch through the back of the Apple logo do you see anything on screen? If so then the backlight or inverter board has failed.
