Was not able to buy because their ****** web server was stucked. Angry

Jesus...

And they are $1,599.

Which is extremely reasonable for a 5-day conference with one-on-ones with engineers. Look at other comparables out there with much higher costs.

People who are paying $1,599 are doing so to learn skills and network, which is MUCH MORE valuable than $1,599.

If Coachella can split into two weekends to accommodate for more attendees, why can't WWDC?

Wow. They should go to a lottery system or something. The slow typists didn't stand a chance this year.

This really was a huge load of crap. My ticket was in my shopping cart and I was checking out. This was at 10:02am. Then I proceeded to the next step of checkout and the system error'd out, then ticket had been removed from my cart because none were left available.

The demand literally made it impossible for me to buy a ticket. In fact, none of the three engineers in the company were able to get a ticket.

Why not just have a lottery at this point?

Sold out in 90 seconds. Crazy, I managed to sign in and then had an error page again and again, then sold out. Appalling.

I feel a lot people are scalping these tickets. I hope Apple starts making these non-transferrable.

So close

I was in the cart/checkout area and I got an error that kicked me out to the sold out message. Crud!

Got mine, WOOT!

Okay I was way off I was predicting 45 minutes.

How quickly will they sell out next year?
6 seconds?

You're comparing two different types of events. One is a music festival, where they pay for musicians. Musicians perform, what 3 hours, for the event?

The other is a developer conference where Apple engineers won't be working at their real jobs. Apple already affords 1 week a year where Apple is put on hold, and engineers are at this convention. 2 weeks is a lot to ask Apple to be 'paused'.

I got the "Thank you for your order" email, so I'm assuming I got in. Plus the fact I did it on a 10 year old PBG4. Guess I just got lucky.

That is just a little too quick.
I know a couple of people who needed, not wanted, but needed to go, so they can speak to certain people from Apple about certain subjects. They received an error when trying to purchase, and returning to their cart displayed it as being empty, and getting to that point took more than the 2 minutes, and so there was no way for them to get a ticket.

This is unfair, there has to be a better way to handle an event like this. Perhaps more than one event?

I do wonder how many people are just going because it's cool, and not because they need to go?

And like that, they're gone.

I was debating to see whether it would make sense financially for me to go and decided to give it a shot....and failed, I logged in at 1pm EST....looks like i should have pre logged in because typing my email/password took too long :(

On the bright side you saved $1600 ;)

And their server handled it. People can say Apple knows nothing of "cloud" and servers but they can handle this type of load much better than Google ever has with Google I/O.

There were a lot of people that received errors as they were trying to confirm their tickets, so it didn't go as smoothly as you seem to think. Apple really needs to find a better way to handle this. A lottery might be a better option. When "first come, first served" becomes luck of the draw based on if the site is working or not, something needs to change.
