LOL... this guy is a joke. I can understand him yelling about Tiger to Leopard... even then there are about a billion reasons why you should upgrade...

But Tiger to Snow Leopard???

What a joke. I don't think he's ever used Macs other than surf internet or something. Was there any change from Jaguar to Tiger? If so, there are more changes from Tiger to Snow Leopard.

I honestly don't see the hype. Like I said apperture is slower, comcast
mail doesn't work correctly with apple mail and the rest is like condiments, where's the beef?

this is stupid. Snow Leopard is miles ahead of Tiger. I use Tiger on my work computer and I loathe it compared to 10.6 and even 10.5.

You have revamped services that are much easier to use (and create). Improved performance. Improved Spotlight. Better window management. And so much more. Not in the least the ability to upgrade to iLife '09.

They're are the same thing... I'll give you ilife. Others are very minor tweaks. Not worth the 125 most paid to upgrade to leopard and 29 more for SL. Thank god I only spent 29 dollars for one disc to put on a few computers!

I just wasted 29 seconds of my life reading this post.

And that was infinitely more expensive to me than upgrading the OS on my computer.

Threads like these are just a waste of time. Apple has been saying for a year this was for under the hood improvements.

Apple did not force you to buy snow leopard and before you come to the forums whining and complaining that nothing is different, I suggest you look at the feature pamphlet that is included in every snow leopard box.

Whether or not you see improvements is no concern to me or anyone in this forum even though they are there, but posting about it is a waste of space and time.

If they are "under the hood" fixes, then it should have been written that way for Leopard...

Leopard offers many visual and application improvements over tiger

by your logic, 10.0 to 10.6 has had no noticeable changes

Sorry, this is such an absurd argument to be making. its not even an argument, its something merely to to get people wasting their time responding to, like me

What are you talking about

Tiger and Leopard are completely different operating systems. Snow leopard's under the hood improvements make it a better "Leopard" than Leopard itself.

There was no small update from Tiger to Leopard. As seen in its name Snow Leopard, they are improving the currently Leopard.

Ok, so I paid 29 dollars to make apperture go slower, make apple mail not work? And I gain time machine, which any idiot can just copy their drive to an external hard drive...Duh!!! Oh the little white light under the icon is priceless, almost forgot. I don't use windows, but old windows 3.1 upgraded to win 95 was an upgrade.

1st, you violate the terms of using the SL upgrade, as your not supposed to upgrade from Tiger, but from leopard to SL.

2nd, you admit that your upgrading more than 1 computer, which you only legally can upgrade to 1 computer without purchasing the family pack!

If your going to be a software pirate, then don't bitch about the $29 upgrade!

Not to Mention, Safari & Mail are faster & more Stable. I think it was well worth $29. An improvement in Speed & Stability is Worth even more to me.

I'm thinking of this in terms of paying to upgrade to leopard and then again to SL... I'd feel totally ripped off if I were you. The EULAPKKKJJKJK, whatever the letters are, were not in my box... AND... Best buy didn't have anything saying it was an upgrade; the box doesn't say upgrade either. Stop carrying the water people...

I do like dictionary...
Hate that Mail doesn't work. Have to tweak it
Hate how slow apperture has become
Like Front Row, but a tad slower in the beginning
Time Machine is a waste, easier to do myself with backup drive
Bootcamp is Great

shouldn't they be stable when you bought them for Leopard?

You're an idiot.

Mail and Safari were stable on leopard but they are faster and MORE stable on Snow leopard.

By "more stable" he means that they crash less often. How often do they crash? not a lot, but not every software is completely crash-resistant.

They were both rewritten using Cocoa to take advantage of 64-bit as well which itself makes them both run faster.

Please explain how you can do what Time Machine does, easier.

Time Machine doesn't just copy the contents of your hard drive to another drive. If you think that is all it does, you are mistaken.
