Nor should he be vilified for sticking his pecker where it didn't belong, he is an idiot for making the matter a public issue when his "game" has nothing to do with his game.

I don't think he willingly made it a public issue
A wrecked car, a golf club swinging wife and scorned women releasing text messages did a pretty good job of that

So when that happens on COPs do we expect a public apology from some shirtless black guy named Tyrone?

Read my post again...

The only one that deserved his apology/penance was his wife and family. Not his peers, not his fans, and certainly not the skanks, even though some have gone public saying he should apologize to them too. On the contrary, they owe his wife an apology as well.

then we agree, why argue the point

No, I am afraid we didn't agree
There is nothing in your post that I do agree with

He ****ed a bunch of gorgeous women and he made lots of money oooh ahhhh he is such a douche bag right? He is no Wilt Chamberlin or Gene Simmons he is a "role model" so let's criticize him for using his penis as a successful man...sorry I criticize him for the simple reason that he apologized rather than telling the media to go **** themselves. I have more respect for the former governor of Illinois than I do for Tiger at least that crooked bastard didn't back peddle.

Just because I don't think he owes anyone a public apology doesn't mean I don't find what he did disgusting and reprehensible
And I would think the same even if it was "some shirtless black guy named Tyrone" as you suggested

Ok I get your point sex is disgusting and should be something we continually openly ridicule as an act against nature... now if you'll excuse me the buckles on my hat and shoes have somehow come loose--my apologies for my indescretion.

Wow, what a random off the wall response... drive around

Your response was Puritan (e.g, the belt buckles) in it's delivery apparently what happens with a strangers sex life matters to you enough that you feel his practices are immoral and do matter to you--what matters to me is the insane public opinion on a personal matter more than the acts commited by Tiger himself. As well as the added public attention tiger has given his fanatics by publicaly apologizing.

No one is so successful, rich and powerful that he can "have it all"... a committed family relationship as a husband and father AND bang "gorgeous woman" AKA "skanks". It is really quite simple. If he wants to be the husband/father... he has to give up the skanks. If he wants to bang ambitious whorish women everywhere he goes... nobody would look twice IF he wasn't in a committed relationship as a husband/father. Other celebs do it all the time without a ripple. If that is the lifestyle he wanted, he should have manned up and either never married or ended his relationship. But the arrogance comes when he feels entitled to both worlds because he is somehow different.

The only one that deserved his apology/penance was his wife and family. Not his peers, not his fans, and certainly not the skanks, even though some have gone public saying he should apologize to them too. On the contrary, they owe his wife an apology as well.

Tiger is a fallible human like the rest of us, and he should be allowed to get on with his life. But he shouldn't be given a pass because of "who he is" and he certainly shouldn't be admired for using his penis as a successful man.

Puritan? Did you even read my post??

I don't give a rat's ass what Tiger does or who he bangs

My only point is that if he wants to do that... he should man up and either not have married or have ended the relationship... you don't get to have your cake and eat her too, I don't care how successful, rich and powerful you are

What is disgusting and reprehensible is what he did to his wife and family, not the gratuitous sex he was having

I said nothing even remotely close to "sex is disgusting and should be something we continually openly ridicule as an act against nature"

- This whole story should have never been brought into the public eye. The entire episode has nothing to do with why we know Tiger Woods. He is a golfer and his stories should focus on his golf-related life.

I'm not saying, in any way, i agree with what he did. Cause I don't. If he's married he should remain faithful...period. However, his personal life should not be infiltrated by the scum-media and the retarded public who eat it all up. Leave the guys life alone.

Yes he's a role model...and he still would have been if the media never felt it necessary to make his private issues public. This topic should stop.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. RIGHT HERE!

I wish people would forget about this and let him live his life.

As an athlete Mr. Woods obligation is only to play good golf. But there is something more here; his sponsors pushing "Tiger" on all manner of sports goods and attire and his sponsors want to market the "Tiger" name and in that sense Tiger Woods owes his fans far more than he has delivered. Moreover, Tiger has disgraced his family, had immoral unprotected sex with innumerable women, and advanced conduct unbecoming to professional golf and/or PGA. If Tiger wants to return to the Masters as an athlete to compete that's one thing and far removed from the Tiger name his sponsors plan to advance. As it stands now, he is not the type of moral person professional golf should be advancing. While Tiger is enormously skilled at the sport, he has no expectation of respect on that alone, since his sponsors are marketing "Tiger" as something more...

I think he should get a slap on the wrist, then have his scores of whores put in a museum.

Then return to golf and continue doing the thing that he had no reason to stop doing. Playing golf.

I'm a single handi-capper golfer, and Tiger has always been an idol of mine. His swing, technique, the way he strikes the ball fascinates me and I've studied his swing to great lengths. I'll never not respect him as a golfer - his talent has inspired me hugely.

As a person, he's let us all down.

What's funny, is that during his public apology, it was almost as if he was sorry he was caught, as opposed to sorry for doing all the adultery.

Suggests that if he hadn't been caught, he'd still be at it.

Anyway, looking forward to the headline, "Tiger holes yet another birdie".

What about his wife getting back together with him for a few million dollars a year? What does that say about his actions? Its ok to cheat as long as you have the cash to buy back your family:p

Abstract you are too funny!

I'm a big Tiger fan as he is the one who got me into golf.

But anyway, I'm going to laugh everytime someone yells, "Get in the hole!!" His affairs give it a new meaning...

So when I expect all this negative publicity to wreck Tiger's game at the Masters and US Open at Pebble Beach in 2010, he ends up doing very, very well.

I pretty much expected him to miss the cut on both.

Tiger's third round at Pebble Beach at the US Open was as good as anything I have ever seen him do, and going from tied for 42nd place to finishing Pebble at tied for 4th makes me realize just how relevant he still is as a world class player who still has a lot of tour wins left in him. His tied for 4th at Pebble was the same position he ended up in the Masters so he's no fluke.

I will be curious to see how Tiger ends 2010 on the tour.

There are amazing players who go their entire career, make a ton of money, yet still never get a top-5 finish at a major PGA tournament. I can't exactly recall, but there are a lot of them. While I know it's probably too late for 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell to become the next big icon in golf at his late age, I was so happy to see a European player win the US Open for the first time in 40 years. While I was rooting for Dustin Johnson (two time winner at Pebble Beach Pro-Am) to win the US Open and thus a major, McDowell or that 18 year year old kid from Japan were my next top choices.

Anyway, with two good finishes at major PGA tournaments this year, I think Tiger has come back to become a threat again in golf.

On his 3rd round, his second shot to the 18th was incredible. I really thought cutting a 3 wood with the ocean on the left and a tree right in front to avoid was recipe for disaster. He pulled it off and had an eagle putt.

That's the Tiger I love watching. Pulling off the impossible in incredible style.

While I only played Pebble Beach GL's Peter Hay, Quail, and PG golf links, I have eaten at the 18th hole restaurants many times and the 18th at Pebble is not something you disrespect the way Tiger did. Only a fool would do that, no matter how great they are.

Tiger pulled it off and while he didn't win the tournament, it's what the locals in Monterey are talking about. This shot defined the year in golf so far!

Nobody in the history of Pebble Beach has done such a gutsy, ill-advised shot and pulled it off. To me, it ranks third in Pebble Beach history behind 1) Tom Watson's miracle on the 17th at the '82 US Open which is golf's most famous shot, and 2) Tiger's 101 yard iron right into the hole at Pebble some years back.

I remember being in the local bar there when Tiger either went into the hole or one hopped it from over 100 yards back, and people went crazy. Usually this type of screaming in that bar is for baseball fans watching Barry Bonds break a record, or seeing the 49ers win a Super Bowl ring.

I wasn't old enough to remember Tom Watson's 17th hole miracle at Pebble in 1982, but it's always shown on local TV whenever Pebble Beach GL is mentioned in a Pebble Beach Company ad on TV, or from any sports station showing footage of Pebble Beach.
