I think you may have missed my point... warfare has significantly evolved from WW2 about 70 years ago. You no longer have to shoot someone or bomb a city. Why else would Russia and China spend significant resources in manipulating elections in Democratic countries?

Have they? Our president has just dismantled the unit that investigated and mitigated election interference. Sounds like they haven't been, or that we (royal) just don't care.
