stupidity like this is why we need to ban tiktok. it offers no value to humanity.
People that frequent that Plattform regularly don’t even realize in what a haze they are in. They are like drug addicts. Take it away for a few hours to days and see what happens.
After a lot of the quite funny takes (the Bob Dylan drummer of Metallica with the face of Prince fake poster killed me 🤣)
I got an unpopular take…
let them, let it continue, I’m so tired of these things that I have taken a harsh perspective: every minute (or hours or days) that people spend scrolling and wasting time is a minute/hrs/days that these people didn’t burn those calories from an extra cookie, researched something interesting from the “good parts” of the internet, advanced a hobby, talked to family/friends, crafted a new job skill, or heck even watching a good movie. They are making you and me advance and get ahead by basically doing nothing… you can’t put on 99.9% of job skills “I spend hours a day on tik tok”, it isn’t even a valuable conversation bragging point.
Now, it’s true that there are real social consequences, including the Apple Stores flooded with these requests (I would argue that maybe for directing traffic there is a plus though)… I guess it’s the price to pay. Maybe moving to a state where free handouts are less easy to gather could give peace of mind on that front too.
Maybe 60% of Tiktokers are hired to scam their followers in some ways, big and small. Sometimes blatant and sometimes just bogus stuff like ‘Eat this Himalaya grass and you will increase 2 inches’
Totally, but I think the design of social media goes even further. The whole thing relies on its users engagement: on themselves posting, reading, liking, commenting, publicly sharing revolt/happiness, etc on the daily.
Social media companies have managed to “hire” (more like convinced) billions of people to work for them daily for free.
