Given most government software is bespoke and written for windows, this would be the the single dumbest decision so far..... no no no...
[doublepost=1497882179][/doublepost]

You avoid paying taxes with tax evasion also ;) which apple is guilty off . Tax avoidance they are not.

Things change very quickly with macs when you have to run software for business. You will be hiring back those 90% very fast

1st part - yes Apple is avoiding (not illegal), not evading taxes, as Tgara also noted.

2st part- that was mostly just a joke. I live in DC so I know first hand IT is needed here regardless of OS.

Thank god Trump is actually making this country great again. These same companies like Apple have avoided paying billions in taxes, no more, a NON politician and OUTSIDER like President Trump will finally show these tech firms that you need to pay to stay

He's bringing jobs and respect back to this country

You forgot to insert /s at the end.

Want to make America Great Again? Cut taxes and decrease government by firing government employees! Let them look for jobs in the private sector!

Tomorrow your guy will be five months in the job and so far his only achievement has been the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. For which majority leader Mitch McConnell deserves far more credit, btw.

You must have set fairly low goals for him if it is taking so little to make "this country great again."
Apparently you have lost your ability to count pass one. Trump has accomplished many things in those months, he might not have solved the big one of taxes but no rational person expects an instant solution there. Nor frankly a final solution.

Just cause it is legal doesn't make it right. Slavery use to be legal.
Excessively high corporate tax rates, compared to the rest of the workd, isn't right either. Nor does having an excessively complex tax structure where only the largest of companies can take advantage is right. In many cases you need to be able to hire a large nimber of accountants and tax lawyers to avoid those taxes meaning most corporations simply can't afford to game the system.

There are lots of problems with our corporate tax system but a lower rate is a far more rational approach if applied fairly to all parties. Very few companies can afford the massive accounting and tax lawyer departments that result in these pathetically low tax bills. Apple is one of these companies.

Hopefully he pointed out that if renewable energy technology isn't invested in now, future government spending will skyrocket dealing with the consequences, across a wide variety of areas.

I wonder how much of the top end of the conversation was about his social network following and how he uses it to bypass the media....

Good for Tim, who clearly does not like most of what Trump stands for, for meeting with him to discuss something they can hopefully agree on.

This meeting has nothing to do with jobs or taxes or repatriation of funds earned abroad. This meeting was about technology security.

That's really not true man. Just because you don't know what he has accomplished (because the media is so ****ing obsessed with non stop coverage of this Russia garbage). He has followed through on many campaign promises that the people who voted for him view as achievements. These include opening new coal mines, working to reduce taxes, much tougher enforcement of our immigration laws, and pulling out of deals that don't directly benefit american workers. You may not agree with these decisions, you may hate them, but they are accomplishments of his regardless.

What achievements did Obama have after 5 months? I'm sure it wasn't too long of a list either. Big changes require legislation. Legislation takes time.

Opening A coal mine. 70 jobs.
"woking" to reduce taxes is not an accomplishment
tougher enforcement of immigrations laws = travel ban still in court
pulling out of the accord which was more rhetoric than anything

If you want to know what Obama did - you don't need to ask in the forum - you can look it up yourself. Here's just one source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_100_days_of_Barack_Obama's_presidency

Also - you negated your post. You said Trump has accomplished a lot and then said big changes require time. So really - you're admitting that Trump's accomplishments aren't significant. Well played.

Slow down now. I never said he has accomplished a lot. I said he has followed through on campaign promises. He actually has. The travel ban and immigration enforcement are two entirely different topics. I support enforcing our immigration laws. I support deporting criminal aliens. I support deporting gang members. I do not support the travel ban in any way. It is not going to stop terrorists and I think its anti-american.

As I said before you might not view his "achievements" as such but his voters do.

You have to admit though, that when the Donald spouts nonsense, he does it in only 144 characters, or less.

Why is government spending necessary for private corporations who run our power grid?

Fair enough "He has followed through on many campaign promises that the people who voted for him view as achievements" - that's valid for those that voted for him.

Unfortunately - his base (not necc all that voted for him) wouldn't care either way and believe everything he says on twitter. He could say tweet at 3pm that he is walking on the moon without a space suit at the same time the news shows him live at Camp David and his base would blame the MSM for its lies.

No, I've seen clips of some of his rallies and also watch some press briefings. He's very flexible to the medium used. In fact, I think when Twitter goes beyond 144 characters look out! He's going to make a whole lot of people in DC have to get a big screen phone to read it all. :D

Yep, however I blame that in part to obvious bias and cherry picking by the media to further a more liberal agenda. CNN in particular has been dishonest in its reporting for a long time and doesn't even flinch when they get caught. When stuff like that happens, its easy to get behind an outsider who's views line up with their own. It is painfully apparent right now that the mainstream media is hell bent on keeping the discussion on controversies (whether they exist or not) surrounding trump so that there is no discussion on anything the public could support him on.

Media coverage has been problematic. I've read many articles in recent weeks and found them to be extremely misleading once I got into them.

There is so much we can legitimately worry about with Trump and his administration that the press does not need to literally make stuff up out of actual nothing to make it sound like they've found a smoking gun for evidence of an actual crime committed by members of the administration. I don't have a link on hand but if I remember correctly there was a New York Times article that did that several days ago.

It is clearly too much to expect journalists to be fair, unbiased, accurate and just report what's actually going on and let the readers make up their own minds.

For myself personally I have more concern and loathing for Paul Ryan and his agenda than I do for Trump. He is the kind of Republican that ultimately caused me to leave the party.

Trump was the initial catalyst for my leaving, but I've grown neutral on Trump because I can't get a clear read on him because our press sucks so bad. He could be a second Hitler or Captain America depending on who is writing the article. It's frustrating for those of us who don't want to be sheeple led around by someone else's take on things.

Painfully apparent that the President is a bold face liar. He needs to be held accountable. That issue is, to me, more important. One never expects to trust Government - but this is truly unprecedented.

It doesn't seem like any of these things will be discussed, at least they're not on the agenda. Hopefully Tim will bring up the corporate tax rate and repatriation by tax holiday, even if it's off the record.

He should be held accountable. That doesn't negate the fact that the media has been less than objective and unbiased in their reporting. They really are on a witch hunt to get something on him. They are desperate to make him look illegitimate. It has gotten so bad they are also ignoring pretty much anything and everything good he is trying to do, which is a shame. I bet you haven't heard anything about his focusing money toward our (badly needing it) infrastructure. That is actually one of the things he has been trying hard to get moving but you would think all he is doing is tweeting nonsense and being investigated for collusion with Russia despite a single shred of evidence. The media could say "we have no evidence so lets see how this plays out in the FBI before we report NON stop about it". I am almost entirely convinced there is nothing there because if there was we would have heard about it with all the leakers in the government.

Which of his lies are unprecedented? As you said one never expects to trust Government. I don't see how this is different from the lies Clinton told, or the lies Bush told, or the lies Obama told.

Trump's SC pick with be there for the next 40 years :)

hope the liberals enjoy that

Why do you people, time and time again, prove that you're more out for some sort of anti-left vendetta than to actually do anything right? Learn to put country before yourself.

False equivalency. This guy even lies about what you can see right in front of your face. It's on a level that one must think he is incapable of knowing what a fact is.
