it seems after Tim Cook took over the rumors have dried up. back in the iphone 3GS/4 days the 2-3 months before release were full of daily rumors. same with the original ipad.

he can be super secret all he wants, but that just means i'm going to be more careful about when i buy my stuff. at release or shortly after and that's it

What's the quote for bro?

Tim Cook comes across as a soft spoken, bright man with a sense of humor. He also displays appreciation for Apple's customers. People keep judging this man by the Steve Jobs yardstick without remembering that the Apple that Cook must manage going forward is going to be a much bigger corporate giant. I think Steve chose his successor well!

Btw, nice question from MacRumors:)

Yeah, he did seem smart, but I can't put my finger on it, but he doesn't seem as good as Jobs, Jobs was very bright and just had an attitude about him, Tim seems more of a pushover. Not that I think he'll do bad, I just think he's more conservative then he should be, and that scares me a bit.

You've spent the last decade with a banana. The banana is comfortable. Suddenly the banana is gone, and you have a tasty orange. Still good, still a fruit, but different.

That analogy sounded waaaaay better in my head.

Seems like an awful self-gratuitous article.

Why not include some of the other questions asked by others?

Why not include them in one piece?

The purpose here was obviously to highlight that the author got to ask a question.

The purpose here was to highlight this question and Tim's answer in the same way that those OTHER individual posts were to highlight the question and Tim's answer.

That way each question/answer could have it's own thread for discussion. Seems logical, amirite?

when I saw this pic.. this is all I could think of. Let me introduce the new Tim Cook meme

read here
https://developer.apple.com/wwdc/faq/

May I photograph or video record keynotes or sessions?

No. Content presented at WWDC is subject to your applicable Apple Developer Program agreement(s). Taking photographs, recording video and engaging in any form of live blogging during WWDC sessions is expressly prohibited.

So no live blogging during the WWDC main keynote?
Do i miss something?
No leaks before WWDC and no leaks during WWDC
Is this the double down on secrecy Cook was speaking about?
I hope this is not the love he feels for us but maybe i'm misunderstanding because i remember a lot of press coverage during the last keynotes..

That's talking about the developer sessions that are under NDA, which is the same as previous years.

The keynote is not under NDA as always.

Every time I see a photo of Tim Cook he looks more and more like Paul O'Grady.

If they ever make a movie about Tim then they need look no further for the lead :)

That's nice of Tim Cook. That says nothing about MacRumors though. Some of the articles I read here I can see the care for Apple in them. And other articles here I read and just go *facepalm*, Apple would be so disappointed with them.

So I think MacRumors is a mixed bag. Does some things well, does others like complete garbage. But it's most certainly not the worst Apple fansite out there. So that is a good thing I guess.

Isn't that kind of the point of a rumours/speculation/excited discussion site though? There would be little point if every article was in hardcore praise of Apple ... if they're supposed to like these sites so much, they should see them as the perfect places from which to learn what people want - okay you say not quite the right people, but hey they're/we're the people that helped get them where they are now.

Wow that was confusing, and probably not even what you meant, but still :).

I see your point. And I agree with you.
And I'm not talking about fanboyism. If a rumour site says a truth or rumour that is not so flattering to Apple that's cool. Not every rumour is suns and rainbows.

My issue is "thinking before they write rumour articles". An example?
Steve Jobs said 2011 was the year of iPad 2. And this site plus others wrote many articles claiming there will be a 2nd iPad release in 2012. They were of cause wrong. My point? Why write a rumour that is in 100% defiance of that the CEO of Apple publicly stated.

I looked at that and thought who do I believe, a rumour site or the words of the Apple CEO. I went with the CEO and was not wrong. Sure write as much as they want about rumours but don't try to say The Apple high up staff don't know their own company. Like this site and other did.

That's just one example but there are many others.
