How long will this adoration continue?

"Happy Birthday Steve you would have been 610 today if you'd still been alive".

I still remember the day he died like it was yesterday, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Love him or hate him, he changed the world for the better.

RIP Steve

I can admit I broke down that night, and when I first saw that picture on one of the many blog posts, I lost it all over again. A flawed man to be sure, as we all are, but one that is still greatly missed. In a selfish way I think of all the things the world missed out on without having him around. Dent in the universe indeed! :( :apple:

"Happy Birthday Steve you would have been 610 today if you'd still been alive".

By 2565 the mythology will have evolved into "Steve never died, he will return in the fullness of time".

To MR,
happy 15th birthday, you're in the midst of your restless teenage years. Long may you grace the internet.

To Steve,
You are missed in so many ways by your family and all your fans and even your adversaries, no doubt. We remember you with joy, but today with sadness because you're not here to celebrate your 60th.

Nothing to be sad about. The dude lived most of his life as a super rich man.

Everyone dies. It's part of life. ;)

He did live a good life, but he probably suffered a lot at the end. I don't like to see people suffer. He wasted away to nothing, and I've seen it happen to loved ones. It's tough to see.

RIP Steve. He was always an inspiration to me. In memory of his 60th birthday today, I created this: :apple:

I'm amazed even after someone's death, Apple continues to celebrate his birthday...

Its interesting what comes out of Apple if your a CEO :D

Well, in fairness the guy was cut down in his prime. If he'd died at 76 I doubt there'd have been much mention on his 80th. 100th, maybe.

Having said that, there's good reason to appreciate for a moment those who made a dent in the universe. Have you? What's stopping you? Get to it!

I remember how awesome it was about a decade ago when I realized I shared birthdays with Steve. Just the day, not the year! I'm old but I'm not THAT old!

All other colored people are on apple web site but they can't be bothered to put founding father on web site?

Nothing says "cult" like continuing to worship Jobs.
Quite a legacy, including a lot of practices and dirty laundry that continue to haunt the company.

Congrats to this site from one of its "several" readers.
I guess back in the day the so-called buying guides were a little shorter. Hopefully less frequent.

After each single post of yours has just been totally negative and anti-Apple, I'm not surprised that you cannot comprehend that there are people out there that don't mind celebrating Steve Jobs birthday. For simple people: It does NOT mean that they will mindlessly buy any Apple products and it also does NOT mean that they'll just see unicorn-poop in all Apple products. BUT- personally I think that any of those people that do think of Steve Jobs and his influence on current tech have far more validity than someone like you who apparently is just here to bash around without any brain whatsoever.

uhh.. it's been 5 years. maybe you were a tween watching ninja turtles then, but for anyone who took an interest in apple since, well, before most of you were born, it's still extremely recent in memory. i'd say these stupid 'adoration' and 'endless worship' comments just scream immaturity and cynicism.

her (his?) posts are nearly 100% self-perceived 'enlightening' snarky comments letting everyone know that MR's rumor stories aren't actual news - as if anyone here thinks otherwise.

the rest just complain about how crappy apple is as a company. pay no mind. i don't think they understand the purpose of a rumor-mill site in the slightest.

MR launched on the birthday of SJ? What a nice fact. Congrats to MR and Happy Birthday Steve!

Happy Birthday Steve and MacRumors!

I'll say it again in honorarium, Steve, boy did we have our differences. Knew it was a different interview when it was the first time I saw an original Jackson Pollock outside of a public museum. Even if I decided the other way, it would have still worked out well.

MacRumors, keep up the crazy and zany peanut gallery that is a great on-line user forum. The bouncers here well vet the malicious from the passionate when both voices are just as loud. Keep up the good work.
