..and that's exactly the way it should be when a new person takes the helm.

Exactly, Steve himself told Tim not to worry about what he would've done.

Steve trusted Tim to lead Apple into a new era. I have to say with things like Supplier Responsibility, opening up on new partnerships (IBM, Microsoft etc.) and creating products I still want more than their competitors he's doing a great job.

"And, of course, the joy he brought his loved ones."

What a crock... He was a deadbeat dad to his first daughter Lisa, he claimed he was sterile. even after DNA proved he was the father he didn't care for her until much later.

Way to go at something that transpired 30 years ago. Unless you grew up Beaver Cleaver with a white picket fence, you know that families are not always happy and perfect.

Was he a total denying douche the first 5 - 7 years she was alive? Absolutely. But you know what? He did pay child support (it's well documented) and as time went on, named projects after her and gradually got back into her orbit. She says very nice things about him with no other motive for her to do so.

As someone who is presently in a testy relationship with his own father, I can tell you that you can't judge one party in a 35+ year relationship based on their conduct in a few of them.

Family aint perfect bro...

Lisa Jobs lived with Steve and Laurene from age 14 onward, and Steve paid for her Princeton education, in full, from day one. Lisa as an adult was very close to her father. Sorry, but the dead beat Dad was the early years. The rest of her life he did it all for her. Lisa's Mom was a dead beat who blew her inheritance by the time she was ten.

Yes and how opportunistic for her to come out now trashing Steve. You don't see Lisa out there trashing Steve.

Jefferson owned slaves, and some say King was a philanderer and Ghandi a racist. You can honor someone for their accomplishments while recognizing their faults.

EDIT: As others have pointed out, he grew enough as a man to do the right thing after a few years. That's more than some have done.

I can't believe it's only been four years since he died but there have already been two films made to profit from his death. Considering films usually take a few years to actually be produced, it's obvious that they didn't wait a second. There should be a period of a couple of decades where any surviving direct family members can veto the production of a biographical film about their family member. For Howard Hughes, they waited what, 30 year after his death (ignoring a hardly seen budge tv movie)?

Ugh.... I still choke from holding back tears every time I come across an article or something that remembers his death.
I've never met the man... never been a part of Apple, but he was with me throughout my life when I was a kid and wished I had the money to buy a brand new Macintosh and continued to be with me as I became an adult and saved up enough to buy my first Apple computer in a the form of a 2008 iMac.

RIP Steve Jobs.... always remembered, never forgotten

You sure ? Well, guess how he named the first Apple computer ever released; Apple Lisa.
Life can take some odd paths and cannot be judged so easily.
Regardless...

The IT world lost a great visionary. Sure, there were and there will be many charismatic CEOs, many charming personalities and smart managers. But seeing the world, catching all its faults and errors, all the drawbacks on every-day tasks, and creating ideas to correct them, going against the common path, that was something a few people are willing and be able to do. Steve was one of them.

Lisa did not go to Princeton she went to Harvard and Jobs did pay initially but he subsequently had a big argument with Lisa and stopped paying her tuition she also moved out of his house to live with one of his neighbors who in fact then paid for her education. It is all pretty well documented.
