A lot of Indian see China as rivalry, and hope China to go down. Is that true?
Well in the next decade or two, these guys will be competing each other for economic power in that region.
Plus with both of their humongous population, both of them will try to woo as many companies as possible to provide jobs to their people.

Thankfully the rivalry is more on who gets to sit on the throne after USA, and not two hostile, densely populated, nuclear armed nation out for blood! :D

I would prefer Japan too, even better I would prefer the United States, but that's far from happening in today's economy. Would be interesting how India goes into assembly. Lets not forget MicroMax, lots of potential for India to lead the way

Poll:-
Would you prefer your iPhone made in China or India?

China has far better logistics... unless you don't mind a month+ delay because a cow herd is blocking the highway.

I prefer India to China. Democracy > Communism. Open Internet > Great Firewall.

That is a far too simplistic view of geo-politics. India maybe democratic but it is also one of the most corrupt countries in the world along with major income disparity between rich and poor, major problems with equity.

As an average citizen, life in China is much better by almost all metrics. So while China maybe communist in name, have a Great Firewall, life is good for the Chinese.

Better do it right. The last thing we or India need is another western company so excited to exploit their people they cut so many corners they wind up burning a village down and poisoning everyone else in the region.

Western mfg has a pretty horrendous track record in India. Fingers crossed that this will be a Great Leap Forward.

I can't tell if you're a racist or just have an unconditional hatred towards them.
Indian officials are corrupt, no one in denying that but we are not comparing it to the West but China whose corruption is just on a much grand and a wider scale.
Income disparity between rich and poor, we're talking about China right? it's not different mate.
But holy cow! No point in discussing this further 'cause as far as I know, you're clearly delusional.

All I think should suffice in saying that, if you keep giving business to a Country who is as hostile as China not only to it's neighbours but to the West itself, it's just simple logic to have a back up plan with India (who as far as i know has a much neutral stance).
