The difference is Breitbart bills itself as a conservative news outlet whereas the AP and Reuters bills itself as being objective which is the very definition of propaganda and misinformation. And had you been reading Breitbart, you would have known that Russian collusion was a hoax, that Hunter Biden’s laptop was real and not Russian disinformation, that Biden’s cognitive decline was being covered up, etc., etc.

AppleTV is pretty solid. I may not like all the shows but you can’t argue with the production quality. I do wish I could tell it to stop advertising specific shows to me on the front page of the device AppleTV. Like I don’t want horror shows scaring my family. I also don’t want xenophobic war propaganda like Tehran being shoved in my face all the time. so in that regard you are probably right getting into content means you’re going damage your brand unnecessarily when you’re a hardware company.

Apple TV content is good now. The App and its UI, it a complete mess. There are times I have to use search to find Apple owned content.

The news app has never been good. It ignores content I have asked to see less of and gives me more of it. Just another native Apple app I do not use. My Apple devices are launching platforms for 3rd party software. Liquid Glass has irritated me to no end and the crazy rounded corners of apps in MacOS 26 makes it look like kind of Fisher Price toy OS.

Apple has peaked and it riding on momentum that is driven by mee too purchases and people that do not like change.

Anyway, doesn't Apple News asks your interests when setting it up and what news sources you typically read? You bet your ass I (as an Apple One Premier subscriber) blocked FOX News and all of those other rags. That's not Apple's choosing though, that was my own decision.

News outlets already have platforms where their content is available. Why strong-arm any of those platforms to carry content against their will? This could be seen as a First Amendment issue. Will the FCC bring back the Fairness Doctrine that Reagan's FCC ended, with the result being that outlets like Fox "News" actually become fair and balanced?
