The environmental and social responsibility aspects of Apple are what impress me the most about Tim Cook. But at the same time I wonder if perhaps those things don't distract away from the products. It's hard to be laser focused about producing the best products if you're dealing with so many other things.

So much of what Cook does is a distraction. Products may suffer. I hope not but I am concerned.

Sorry but how is Kim Kardashian influential? I can understand Emma Watson being in the list due to her recent "political" career but who does Kim Kardashian influence really?

Well that because she's a sexy woman and real men knows who she is.. unlike Emma Watson, who the only reason I know who she is ..because a friend mine is a nerd

Political career # ha ha

There are thousands of women just like her in LA: young, wealthy, "attractive", and obliquely connected to people you've heard of. But she was the one, not any of them, who transformed herself into a brand worth hundreds of millions of dollars. She made being famous for being famous into an empire that Paris Hilton (remember her?) could only dream of.

You don't have to admire her, but you can't deny her influence.

I'm sick of hearing about every CEO's pet project or their bedroom preferences. How about you get back to work Mr. Cook and start fixing the obvious decline in the utility of products that Apple offers? Ive is out of control, retail is in chaos, and the ongoing rot at the core of OS X has to stop.
Obviously you follow Tim Cook's bedroom preferences more closely than normal people do.

I don't have any idea what kind of pajamas he wears or what sort of sheets he has on his bed.

Making Time's list of the one hundred 'Most Influential People' is a bit of a come-down from being named Fortune's #1 'World's Greatest Leader'.

Tim's clearly slipping.

Influential is such a "wild-card" term, both good, bad and crazy people can be put in this category...I'd prefer the term INSPIRATIONAL for Tim Cook... :D

Them that can, do (Jobs), them that can't make spectacles of themselves...

Wow, cherry picking the negatives much? You literally have no idea how hard the man works, do you? Give him a break.

Tim does more work in one day than what most of us do in ten.

I admire Tim a lot. I don't think he's been terrible for Apple, as so many imply. I think he stepped into his role as CEO with incredible humility and grace.

He's on my list of people I would most like to have lunch with. Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth (in his Thor outfit) are also on that list.

:D

How do you know he wears pajamas? Maybe you're following him closer than you think? :D

Unless you are an asian or white male. Then you need not apply to any of Apples peripheral recruiting programs.

Hey! He employs many underage Asian tin miners.

I used "political" in quotation marks.

Possible. Since I don't live in USA, I only know her as the woman with the mighty butt.

Pratesi sheets of course. everyone knows the best linens are made in italy.

She is influential. I wouldn't say that she is positively influential, but she is influential.

In terms of social and environmental contributions, I think his inclusion is quite merited. The only language (and implications) I take issue with is the product genius and profitability segments, which have yet to be entirely proven (but look promising). Apple watch is the first major product launch in a new area that has Tim's hands all over it. It's success will certainly set the tenor for the rest of Tim's time as CEO -- until then, he's still riding on the success of Steve's products and vision.

well tim cook is a genius when it comes to production. he acquired all the facilities for aluminum right before the production of the aluminum macbook so the rest of the competition couldn't copy them. pure brilliance.

people fail to realize tim cook's impact b/c he doesn't wear turtlenecks or have the charisma of steve jobs. but he is very effective behind the scenes and is so far proving he has the wherewithal to make apple a very profitable company.

You're absolutely right. I did a quick look back on all my Apple purchases over the past 3 years. Each and everyone has been replaced ateast once due to issues. And the current state of the software is a mess. He definitely needs to focus on the task at hand, or go work for the UN or green peace, which seems to be his real calling.

The fact Apple has been Able to scale up its production to 200M+ a year high grade phones is due to Tim. Having a good product idea doesn't matter if you can't produce it in quantity and quality. That's his specialty and he's been a key in were Apple is now : the #1 company in the world.
