If I were there and had a chance to talk to Tim Cook, I'd ask him when they are planning to include 2 GB RAM on the iPhone and iPad so that I don't have to compose forums posts in the Notes app and then copy paste into the forum site. I'd tell him 1 GB RAM isn't sufficient for power users - if you can call copying and pasting stuff from multiple Safari tabs into one tab and hoping it won't refresh on you a power user scenario.

Did you really have to bring that here to the dinner table right now?

What he should be doing is apologizing for ****** up the pre-orders. The amount of bad will that Apple has created with the launch will last a long time. People were forced to go to carrier sites to pre-order and the carriers are totally bungling the whole thing.

And the whole time Tim stands there smiling. I've been an Apple customer since my Apple IIe and a near zealot. But Apple is tripping over their shoe laces all over the place and not acknowledging their failures and certainly not apologizing.

Last time I defend Tim when someone talks about how he sucks.

Okay....

He did wear the Apple watch elsewhere. But you don't wanna know where...

His ankle? Why would he place an iWatch there? Surely that's not a secondary use for it right?

Stay home, Tim!

Tim, if you were really interested in making new product launch days great for customers, in my opinion, you could skip your cameo appearance and direct your energy towards making policy that would make these events more convenient and respectful of customers.

For example, why does Apple have a policy that makes it so inconvenient for customers who already have an iPhone, and wish to trade in on a new iPhone, by preventing them from preordering a new iPhone for in store pick up and trading in the old iPhone in store on the same day? I guess this would not fit Apple's PR model of creating a "circus" (with Tim as the "ringmaster") on launch day...

Steve would never have done this... :)

Tim may not give a Jobs-like keynote (although he's getting better), but I think he makes up for it by coming off as more personable in other appearances in the media and in person.

EDIT: I stand corrected; Steve Jobs actually did go to openings and launches at least sometimes. Thanks guys for setting the record straight. Whether it's just because it's more recent or not, it still seems like to me this sort of thing is more Tim's style than Steve's.

You sure about that? ;)

I actually have a pic of Jobs standing at the doorway for the opening of the 5th Ave Apple store - Nice doorman

Maybe its because you already have an iPhone and on new product launches you can expect a lot of new/first time owners?

Does it also cause people who ordered 5 minutes after ordering opened to not get their phones while people ordering the same phone hours later did get theirs?

And if your systems can't take orders then maybe you should spend some of the money that is sitting in the bank so your customers can actually buy something.

Apple doesn't need to be defended.

Crazy/crappy things will happen when you have millions of people all accessing the same website, at the same time, sending and receiving data
Its not a game but there's the people who got their orders in and the people who didn't. You can't always be a 'winner'.

Not something that anyone can really 'own' up to and 'apologize' for. Although you don't sound like you were looking for a simple apology but for Tim Cook to don some robs and live at a monastery.

Couldn't resist.

Are you serious? Have you been paying attention to apple lately? I take it you didn't try to watch the botched key note.

Plenty of companies can figure out how to use the Internet effectively. Despite all of apple's money and alleged expertise, they can't seem to get services right.

And where do you get off with that last snide comment. That's exact what I said I wanted was for them to acknowledge that they screwed over loyal customers and say the're sorry.

What other companies have demand like that?

And where do you get off saying Apple should apologize for some sort of damages or sleight? Real world happening right now King Nunyabinez, product launches are rough.

The guy standing to the right of Tim Cook - he's got a black device clipped to his belt (right hip). Does not look to be an:apple: device (huge antenna sticking out)... You stand right next to the CEO of Apple with a non -Apple device?? :|

It's a radio, not a phone.
