If Tim Cook is going to insist of describing everything Apple does as "incredible," the least he could do is look it up in the dictionary on his Mac:

incredible |inˈkredəbəl|
adjective
1 impossible to believe: an almost incredible tale of triumph and tragedy.
2 difficult to believe; extraordinary: the noise from the crowd was incredible.
• informal amazingly good or beautiful: I was mesmerized: she looked so incredible

Or the thesaurus:

1 I find his story incredible: unbelievable, beyond belief, hard to believe, unconvincing, far-fetched, implausible, improbable, highly unlikely, dubious, doubtful; inconceivable, unthinkable, unimaginable, impossible; informal hard to swallow, cock-and-bull.

Because the Ipad Mini cannot make calls...It is too big to be used right next to the ear as good as other large screen phones (phablets) that are designed with calling in mind...I think 5.2-5.5 would be a perfect size however it must include a different UI and features that fully utilises the added real estate..IOS8 should take care of that !

My point was actually that you should carry a phone and a mini. The darn stuff is so useful, it makes sense. Also cost-wise Verizon is only charging $10 a month to add a tablet to a share plan. So once you buy the mini (which is not a small expense) there is little added cost to having it fully connected. Also offloading a lot of activity to my Mini means my iPhone 5's battery has no trouble making it through the day despite being well over a year old.

I think you could use a bluetooth headset with the mini though and make phone calls pretty easily as well off the mini. Facetime Audio is an untapped resource.

I do not think you'd have many takers for that..I carry my Mini when i travel but do not want to carry two devices on my person at all times...A phablet is a genuine market category..And apple has not touched it yet, so really do not know what a potential iPhablet provides interms of portability, usability, UI and UX..perhaps apple does it so well that a large number of the issues that we see on the current lineup of phabs take a back seat?

My wife and I always always laugh when he uses that word in his keynotes. The expression added to the word seems really forced and rehearsed.

Then you and your wife must laugh a lot. It is good to laugh a lot.

Such a smart person to have such a poor vocabulary. It's a shame, really.

The other overused adjective that gets my attention is "fantastic." I always have to wonder if the person really meant to say that the thing is lacking in reality or bizarre.

I think you do not understand the international market. Asia and Africa are growing markets.

Markets can not indefinitely grow and there is not an infinite number of markets a company can enter.

----------

North Korea will eventually be a market. :D

It might take a few decades, and a couple of Nuclear Wars. But the West will be triumphant, and we will force the Democratic Way of Life, Starbucks, and Apple Stores upon them, over their dead bodies if need be!

The USA. Big difference to modern western countries.

Portfolios can diversify and different product categories can emerge..Look at Microsoft vs Apple..MS bet on the PC while apple that had many times a smaller market share saw the writing on the wall and diversified away from PC's to mobile devices (that eventually ate into their and other's PHC market share)...Same thing with portable music players..Ipod had its time until apple launched the iphone and it blew up the smartphone market..The Ipad did the same thing for home computing (of sorts)..And the technology cycle will keep on spinning..Only question is whether apple can still launch products which capture the imaginations of millions of people around the world, not whether the iphone's sales will stagnate and lead to apple flattening out as a company.

Chinese people value above all trends, and iPhone is the trend that makes you seem rich and connected.

Everyone I know who lives there owns an iPhone, they make about 15-20k a year.

It'll sell.

The most over/mis-used word of them all 'awesome'. Just remember awesome and awful are, essentially, the same word. Properly used awe is wonder mixed with fear. Both awesome and awful mean 'filled with awe'.
