Tim Cook Named 'CEO of the Year' by CNN

In my opinion Tim Cook has done an exemplary job for Apple.

He deserves all the accolades he receives. I'd like to see him at the helm for a long time. Stabilizing Apple for long haul.

i'm not saying you're homophobic, i'm saying your thinking on the matter is skewed. you use your personal boredom with arguably the best devices in the industry (and their yearly embodiment of Moore's Law) to justify your suspicions of political correctness. you'd have a point if apple wasn't breaking sales records and maintaining its position at the very tip top.

You're right about the 5. But Apple acquired Authentec in 2012, so the iPhone 5s was created under Tim Cook.

You can play the "that's not innovation" game, but that could apply to anything Apple has ever done. They don't make new categories. They win by successfully exploring newly opened categories (usually).

I'm not playing with anything. I was responding to the poster. Watches is not a new category. For Apple it might be. But also, there's no Apple watch yet. It's currently vaporware. I have no doubt they will release a watch (obviously) - but that's at least a couple of months away.

Thank you for this comment. Tim has done a stellar job. Apple has never been perfect, but I will take the bugs in OS X and iOS over the ones in Android and Windows.

And him coming out was great. If you are a homophobe and think he should have kept quiet then maybe you should stop posting pictures of yourself and your wife and/or girlfriends, stop kissing in public, etc. I am tired of you throwing the fact you are heterosexual in everyone's face. Jeez :rolleyes:
 
Well as others already mentioned, he didnt really do well this year..

Guess his coming out saved his ass... Wait , seeing the irony now. lol . made me laugh

The 5S may have been manufactured under Tim Cook, but it was still Steve Jobs' design. The 6/6+ was the first iPhone not fully crafted by Jobs.

and os 'a disaster'....??? uh, on what planet do you reside? mac os is the most stable, capable, consumer-aimed os out there...

Analysts are predicting 60-70 million iPhone sales this quarter. How the heck can that be called a disaster?!?
 
Nothing particularly difficult about running a well-oiled machine that is Apple. Real CEO of the year should be someone that has taken a failing company and turned it into a success story. Apple could have no CEO in place and there is enough beaurocracy in place to run things for a while through established chains of command and procedures.

Tim's real test will come in the form of increased competition and concumer hunger for the "next big thing". So far, I have actually seen more steps backward than forward such as significantly lacking hardware and software quality control.

I'm with you here. And I think it needs to be said that almost all mac's being changed for newer models, will be sold or given away to other people with less power hungry computing needs. Not everyone need 4K video editing machines!
