I hope one of them read:

You forgot the "Sent from my iPhone 4S via Siri"

Anyway, Tim Cook seems a far cry (in a positive way) from Steve Jobs and his "why the fsck doesn't it do that?" anger fits. And am I reading this correct, that Cook believes in promoting people, meaning Jobs did not?

I remember people saying Apple had nowhere else to go after the iPod got huge. Then they said the same thing after the iPhone.

Steve's genius was in figuring out what people needed before they knew they needed it.

Sent from my iPad 2.

I don't know about that. Apple hasn't released a major all new product since the iPad. I could have predicted the phone or the tablet. You could see them coming. I see nothing else. Remember, iPod, iPhone, and iPad were based on existing products. There is nothing out there right now with that potential. Which is why there hasn't been a major release since the iPad and there won't be.

Really?

No offense but I just think you don't have the vision because there's plenty potential domains for Apple: game console (just like the iPad is the new newton, they still need a new Pippin), home theater, TV (all these three domains could be only one product thought), home Automation, Car System, and probably more than I can't think about...

As well in Software & Services, there's also a lot of domains that could be interesting for Apple such: a new version of MacPaint & MacDraw, maybe even as a Creative/Design Suite to compete with Adobe CS... since FCP, Logic, Aperture, already compete with some apps of CS (premiere, audition, Lightroom, etc...). Why not go on photoshop, illustrator and flash market? Revamp also iWeb with a iWeb Pro version to go against Dreamwaver, etc... People needs a solution to create HTML5 contents and web page anyway.

Ok might be wrong on a lot of things here because I'm not at Apple, but I'm sure there's still a lot of places where Apple could go. Nobody knows today but saying there's nothing left is surely not right. Don't worry, lot of people at Apple are paid to think about that and I'm sure Steve left some big lines to Tim and all executives.

I do want to see if Tim is his own man or if he is going to be a lame duck style CEO always thinking WWSD for every little thing. I am hoping for the former where he takes the bull b the horns and does things HIS way. Like I said earlier I think the guy is obviously really smart and could do things to improve only changing direction slightly.

I'll say it again...Everyone's looking for Tim to suddenly change direction, change the way things are done at Apple, become "his own man" etc.

That implies that what he's been doing for the last few years is reluctantly putting up with Steve's vision, thinking "I can do it better than this". I sort of hope that for the last few years Steve and Tim's vision has been pretty much the same thing - hence Steve 'anointing' Tim as his successor. That being the case, Tim changing things early on can only be a case of "it's my toy now and I'll play with it how I want play with it".

As time goes on Apple will have to react to events but early changes from business as usual would worry me.

So far, apart from industry rumors, things look good. "Nothing since the iPad" - Sheesh, you get a miracle, you get two. Suddenly you expect miracles everyday! I just enjoy using the Apple tools I own every day. That's the pleasure for me. New shiny toys are cool but solid, stuff that lasts is what keeps me coming back to Apple.

Erm the Apple Television is coming. Then you have the entire major product range revamp coming next year ( Macbook, iPhone, iPod etc ) I don't think you thought that one out very well did you?

"Apple Television" is a rumor. A strong rumor, but at this point still a rumor. They already have a conflict with an existing product in terms of name.
