Well 1/3 of hundreds of millions of users means a nice windfall for Apple.

So you're agreeing that 1/3 of users are falling for a ripoff scheme and that is a windfall for Apple?

I'm sorry, I really don't know if you're agreeing with me here because it seems to contradict most of your other posts to admit Apple has done something bad for their users.

Sure you want a pro setup, you’re paying $6 grand. Want a less than pro setup, bring your own stand. So yeah, it’s a $6 grand engineered package, the same way the spyder is an $800,000 package. But yeah, you can bring your own rims but then you probably won’t have a pro package

You're buying a $1000 monitor stand, and you're trying to respin it to pretend you're not.

The $800,000 spyder comes with rims -- no need for a spare set. The $5,000 iMonitor does not come with a stand.

Do you agree that $6000 is a reasonable price to pay for the monitor or not? Never mind that the stand by itself costs $1000, do you see this as a compelling package for the people who would be in the market for such a product?

Here's a pro tip: It's not your opinion or my opinion of the program that matters, it's Apple's opinion. But if your opinion is that a failure is defined as getting 1/3 of hundreds of millions of users to use a program, it's certainly within your right to sport an opinion like that.

But I guess an analogous type of program is trading in your car to the dealer. It's clearly a rip-off scheme and windfall for the dealer. I can see why Apple would want to do this and in the process, serve their customers.

The monitor needs a stand and the $800,000 spyder needs rims. One needs to buy both a monitor with a stand and a car with rims.

Just sell to reputable users? How do I do that? I don't get to pick who wins.

Yes, there is the "Buyer Requirements" page, but that's so limited it is useless.
I guess that would be a potential issue for auctions. I always sell my items with Buy It Now. The scam/bot accounts make offers but they never just straight up buy stuff because their whole scheme relies on "paying" you outside of the regular eBay/PayPal process.
