2013 showed absolutely no innovation outside of the ridiculous MacPro design. Let's see, slight tweaks of existing iPads (e.g. Air and rMini), a horrible Airport Extreme/TimeCapsule, and a MacPro that looks like it'll be impossible to upgrade. Fantastic "year of innovation" eh? I'm an Apple fan, but if this is their best everyone should look to sell off their stock.

The tweaked and slightly redesigned 13" rMBP was my "dream notebook" that I had been waiting for. The first iteration wasn't powerful enough thanks to HD 4000, but Apple nailed it with the Haswell version.

I was also pleased with the iPhone 5s. Again they just tweaked and improved something that was already perfect.

I haven't bought one yet, but the iPad Air is yet again a tweaked and improved version of the best tablet on the market.

For me, Apple delivered. I am not sure what some of you were expecting.

Did the chinese workers at Foxconn received this email too? (because they are the only ones making our "magical experience" possible). I don't think so, they are too busy working their a**es 12 hours a day. Apple won't make them waste time reading corporate emails.

So did you spend time mailing Xmas cards to all the immigrant laborers in this country that make your inexpensive food, housing, and generally good lifestyle possible? No? Then please feel free to punish yourself appropriately.

This would require an iOS device running on x86 or a mac running ARM, unless it has both processors in it?

No offense, but either way that sounds like a bad idea, and I'd be disappointed if Apple bit from the "pressure" and started making gimmicky hybrid devices.

Exactly... and Tim Cook has stated over and over again that Apple is not interested in a refrigerator/toaster hybrid device.

Appreciation

Nice of him to voice his appreciation of his employees. I wonder how many companies do that.

The CEO of every company I've worked for has thanked all employees every year. When I worked for Quad/Graphics, the CEO toured the country the last two weeks of the year and personally thanked and shook the hand of every one of the 12,000 employees.

Whilst that may be true, I work for the world 3rd largest retailer and we were provided with a video noting how much we need to work on beating the competition and focusing on customer service. This was after they halved our christmas bonus from £20 to £10 in conditional spend vouchers (spen £10 to get £1 off). I don't care about the rewards, but to me, Tim's message was far more inspiring that the message we were given.

Perception is everything I guess.
Yes it is.

Frankly, it's really insulting to the employees to offer such a misery £10 Christmas bonus. It would be better off if the company sank that money into improved employee facilities, like a better break room.

I'm glad I don't work at your company.

As a consumer, I'd love a MacBook Air with Retina...

Me too, but lower battery power and higher pricing might be the downside of this - both from my point of view the unique selling points in contrast to the Macbook Pro. But it will be the future, yes.

I find it HILARIOUS that Tim did not mention the 5C in that email.

Hahahahaha, gotta ignore them failures right!

WRONG! And you would be the first one upset if another CEO pushes heterosexual views and was supporting traditional family values. Look at the Duck Dynasty example.

The only thing I'm intolerant of is intolerance. I have nothing against traditional family values. If that's your thing, fine. If you want to live according to rules from a 2000 year old book, go right ahead. Just don't try to claim moral superiority. Phil Robertson called homosexuality sinful and compared it to bestiality. That's not supporting traditional family values, that's offending millions of people.

Just like "gun control". If liberals don't like guns, they want everyone's rights to be violated by trying to ban them for everyone. That would be the equivalent of a conservative and gun supporter trying to pass a law that required everyone to carry and own a gun. See the difference now between the two? Or was that too complicated of an analogy?

Hey, I like guns. On a range. Trouble is more guns on the street lead to more homicides (http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/hicrc/firearms-research/guns-and-death/) and I want to live. And no, you won’t stop mass shootings by arming everyone (http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/mass-shootings-investigation).

I truly do wish you a merry Christmas though.

Your effort is appreciated but futile. It appears mods are removing any messages about the subject, even educated and fair ones, almost immediately :/

Update Logic to take advantage of every nook and cranny of power in the nMP? Please?

And BTW…I like Tim Cook. He has a heart where Jobs had just an ipump.

These "Mods" area bunch of morons! We don't need you to delete posts because people have viewpoints that you don't like! If this is how to want to run a site, that's your prerogative. Instead of deleting my posts, you can just delete my entire account because being censored like this makes it completely pointless to be on here in the first place.

Those workers receive whatever communications emanate from their management team.

They are not Apple employees so they wouldn't receive internal communications from Tim Cook (the Apple CEO).

In the same way, some Apple engineer's gardener isn't going to get Tim's e-mail either.

Just to let you know.

You dont know a bit about my food, housing or lifestyle.

Dont presume that im like you.

Enough with the humanitarian nonsense.
You use slave labor in China, you take jobs out of the United States, and you charge rip-off prices for sub par hardware.
Loudly championing gay rights and gay marriage doesn't make you a saint.

Enough already. Just make better hardware, simplify an engorged Mac OSX and STF U

Nah, Apple says 4" is the 'perfect' size. But if they do make it larger, they'll say the new larger screen is actually the 'perfect' size and people will no longer like 4".

Whether they come out with a larger one or not, I think they keep the 4" because it is the perfect size for me--and I know I'm not alone--because it fits in my pocket. Any bigger and it's annoying. I was admiring my sister-in-law's S4 yesterday because it is a cool looking phone. But the deal breaker is it won't fit in my pocket. If I really want something bigger for whatever reason, my iPad Mini is never far away.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wishes they would.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wishes they would.

So, you wish I was banned because you disagree with my opinions? Ah, I see...the liberal ideology.

You notice I'm not wishing you to be banned because I disagree with you.

You can disagree and show respect at the same time. Igniting arguments where they have no place is not in any way beneficial to anyone. The mods job is nip nip that sort of thing in the bud. It's obvious and not all opinions deserve an equal platform, and even if they did, front page discussions aren't that platform.
