What does it mean "VAT is chargeable on MOST sales"? Chargeable does not mean the company pays for it! NO company pays for VAT within EU, please learn your facts

With all due respect you jump in on some comment I made to someone else who thought this whole thing was about VAT. I'm saying it's not about VAT. You are now accusing me of saying things I didn't say. To be clear here, companies in Europe pay VAT on the things they purchase. More specifically, companies pay the difference in VAT between the VAT charged on the good they sold minus the VAT charged on the goods or service they bought. Now, you said to me: "VAT exemption is in effect for every business within EU. Everybody but you seems to know this". What are you talking about? You still didnt' tell us what a VAT exemption is, and how every company benefits from this. You also didnt' say how any of this pertains to the Apple corporation tax issue. Please stop strawmanning me and maybe read the full context of the thread before you jump in on someone elses comment.

I never said it was all about the VAT. I thought I specifically said that companies within EU are benefited from the union. VAT exemption is that they don't really get charged ever the VAT. VAT is a collectable tax on behalf of the consumer, not the business entity. EU members also get benefits from other taxes too, like customs fees etc. There has to be a reason Mr. Cook chose Ireland as a base for his company after all, the same reasons the British are negotiating with EU for the last 2 years to keep those benefits, I would guess...
