Tim Cook Won't Appear in Apple's September 9 Event Video

Tim Cook will attend the screening for Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event this Wednesday, but he will not feature in the event video itself, according to sources cited by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Cook stepped down as Apple CEO on September 1 to become executive chairman of the company, paving the way for John Ternus to take over the top job.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said that Apple has "carefully orchestrated this transition to make Ternus the face of the foldable iPhone and all the new products to come. Putting Cook in the presentation would just undermine that."

Makes sense, he kind of subtly said goodbye to customers at the end of WWDC.

Goodbye in the sense of representing the company as CEO and presenting in the public eye.

I feel now the 1st of September has passed, it should be the Turnus show now and I can't wait to see his first Keynote as CEO.

I feel he will invent his own because Tim Cook made the "Good Morning" so special and unique due to his accent.

I can’t help but feel I’ll miss Tim Cook nonetheless. I hope Apple can include him for small segments now and then, in future events.
