You know what really disappoints me often is believing that it’s because of Covid that we didn’t get a live event for the iPhone 12 keynote having Phil Schiller be the one presenting us that iPhone. I felt that it was Covid that made Phil say “You know I think this will be the best time now to step down from this role”. I’ve really warmed up to Joz now but man we still on the Pre-Recorded events? Really?

It would be refreshing, for sure. And I think Ternus have the talent to present the products live on the stage. But honestly, it is easier and more visually appealing to keep using the video recorded Kenotes, and leaves no room for mistakes, so...

What an irony. It looks like the iPhone 18 Pro will be the most Cook-era iPhone ever: same design, essentially the same specs (since most people won’t even notice or benefit from the incremental improvements), just more expensive.

Apple Silicon alone makes Tim Cook's era pretty damn good. People have terrible memories in terms of how bad laptops were when it came to battery life and heat before then.
There were some rough patches - Apple maps launch... Ive's MacBook Pros objectively being the worst Apple laptops ever... The Apple watch not knowing what it wanted to be for a couple generations... but once a lot of the old swamp got drained out, Tim's Apple has been unstoppable.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to argue against the hardware they've put out in the past 6 years. Not only excellent for the desktop but also mobile, that's a pretty rare combination. I mean, just look at Intel, they've never been able to do both at the same time, using the same core technology. People don't want to give any credit to Tim for that but it all happened after Steve.

They do, but only so invited press can watch the video. It's kind of misusing its namesake, in my opinion. Named after one of the best live business presenters in history, no more live presentations.
