Dead Time Capsule

I have a dead 500 Meg time capsule that is just over one year old. It quit yesterday, and now that I have had a chance to see what is going on, it starts with a solid amber light for about 15 seconds and then goes blank. Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

Dead 500 meg time capsule as well; about 15 months old. Nice thing is, I called Apple and told them a) what the problem was, b) that I was aware that they were having severe issues with the filter capacitors in the power supply, and c) was polite and cordial over the phone and they were more than happy to ship me a free replacement.

Companies are going to make products with issues; how they handle those issues determines whether I repeat business with them.

Time capsule power chord

Saw the great comments about the ill-fitting power chord. When I was trying to get it connected, it was sparking across the pins. I was speaking to AppleCare at the time as they were helping me get it going and the guy said "Oh it shouldn't do that but I am sure it's not a problem!!!!" Has anyone else had this problem?

I can't find com.apple.TimeMachine.plist

I have had all the nightMares trying to use my Time Capsule with my MacBook system 10.6.5 .. I have a French system..but the name if not the PAth should be the same....com.apple.TimeMachine.plist

We do use the Time Capsule as a router and to access ITunes may be it is too much to ask.

Betoide1,

I have been frustated for weeks before I carried out the following:

Remove:

com.apple.TimeMachine.plist

from Library/Preferences

This worked for me and the Time Machine has been working fine since November 2008.
My printer will not work from Time Machine.
I hope this helps you.
