I just did a clean install of Snow Leopard after my hard drive died. I have a bunch of time machine backups from 10.5. If I were to now restore to one of those backups, would it revert me back to 10.5?

I want to keep snow leopard but with my files and apps from when I was using 10.5.

Sorry for the dumb question.

Just use the migration assistant to restore your settings and apps. It will walk you through it.

If you do a complete restore from your Time Machine backup, it will revert to that OS version (10.5, in this case).

The Migration Assistant (in your Utilities folder) can be used to import your applications and user settings & data.
