Really taking that literally, huh? He’s trying to make his point, using an exaggeration.

I agree, been using both the past few weeks and they are awesome upgrades! Great battery life on new watch. New iPhone is the best one, love the screen!

I don't get how the Apple Watch with Cellular is a considered "top" seeing you cannot last a day with just the watch.

The series 3 is riddle with connectivity issues and has about a 10 minute battery

Top 3? Come on mayne

Found the people who don’t actually own an Apple Watch Series 3.

That is interesting and helpful to know. My Apple 2 Ceramic Watch always gets me through a full day, and when I'm too lazy to stick it on the charger, it's still working halfway through the second day! I can only assume it has to do with the LTE feature turned on.

These folks are just writing nonsense. “Riddled with connectivity issues” and “cannot last a day with just the watch” is complete BS. I wear one every day and get 2 and a half days of battery life with my phone connected and almost the same battery life as my Series 0 with only LTE on.

The Nintendo Switch is not better than the iPhone X or the Apple Watch.
I'm not sure about the X, but the Switch is definitely better than the Apple Watch from the prospective of usefulness. From what I can tell with people who own the Apple Watch, the usefulness of it seems very limited based on their infrequent interaction with it. The iPhone and Apple Watch are like Batman and Robin, you often wonder why there has to be a Robin and when there's only Batman, you don't feel like anything/one is missing. That's not to say Robin can't be useful, but Batman will remain the main attraction and can usually get the job done better without the distraction.

After previously earning the designation of one of the overall best inventions of 2017, the iPhone X has today been placed at the #2 spot on TIME's "Top 10 Gadgets of 2017" list. According to the magazine, Apple's new smartphone placed so highly because many of its features -- including Face ID and edge-to-edge display -- "will undoubtedly set a new standard for phones to come."

Below the iPhone X, the following gadgets round out the top five spots: Microsoft Surface Laptop (#3), DJI Spark (#4), and Samsung Galaxy S8 (#5). TIME's #1 gadget of 2017 is the Nintendo Switch, which it says is a "true knockout" thanks to its games library and ability to transform from portable gaming to playing on a TV at home. There is some overlap with the devices mentioned on TIME's new list with the Top 25 Best Inventions of 2017 article from last week, including the iPhone X, DJI Spark, and Nintendo Switch.

Sitting further down the list is another Apple product, the Apple Watch Series 3, which earned the #9 spot. TIME said that the advantages introduced in the new version of the Apple Watch, like a faster processor and barometric altimeter, were great additions. But the magazine said the truly notable addition was LTE: "the freedom to leave your phone at home when you step out to walk the dog or go on a run may be just enough to persuade smartwatch skeptics that the Apple Watch is worth considering, especially for athletic types."

It is expected. iPhone X is the best gadget in 2017 along with Apple Watch 3.

The Nintendo Switch is easily the best gaming device that has ever existed.

Since getting it, I never bother with games on my iPhone anymore. The Switch has vastly better games on it and is only slightly less portable.

I think it's major competition with the iPod Touch and iPad at least, since a lot of those are given to children as game devices, and at least competes with the Games category on the App Store.

I think Apple is likely to feel some pain from it - I'm curious if they'll respond. Really all they need to do is create something like the Joycons and Grip that works with iOS devices, and require games to support them.
I think Apple was hoping Nintendo would pull a Sega and get out of the hardware business entirely, providing a significant boost to their ailing gaming hopes with first party releases for their iOS devices/Apple TV. Now, one of Nintendo's best efforts to date in the form of the Switch has derailed those plans. I love my Switch.

Interesting that Apple’s main competitor - Samsung - still hasn’t released an edge to edge (top to bottom) screen.

They marketed the Galaxy S8 like it had no bezels, but it still had bezels. They were small, but they’ve been smaller (than iPhone) on Samsung phones for a while.

What point? Then I would suggest re-reading the post I quoted. Because that member stated Series 3 is 'riddled with connectivity issues', which contributes to 'ten minutes of battery life', which isn't true in itself. There's no accurate metric to measure the battery life if someone has poor connectivity issues, which is out of Apples control, and in the carriers. Hence why I corrected that by listing the battery statistics.

I agree with you im not paying for another line on my cell account just to be able to make a call from my wrist like Dick Tracy without my phone.

Is series 3 THAT much better than series 2 if you don’t care about Lte ?

It depends. But The Other improvements are there, which include a faster dual processor, audible Siri, the speakers are much improved, and you have a larger 16GB storage with the LTE model over the 8 GB GPS model.

Yes it has. My Apple Watch Series 3 sans LTE lasts 3 days on a charge…

Wrong.

Absolutely love my Apple Watch Series 3. Well placed in that list!

I get 3 days normal usage. If I’m doing a workout or running it drops to 2 days (the continuous heart monitor and GPS do take extra juice).

The LTE battery life is kind of irrelevant as the Watch isn’t intended to replace your phone completely. The only times I leave my phone at home are when I’m working out or if I go out at night to the pub or similar. And all I do is then is a few text messages or the occasional call. A smartwatch is not a phone and shouldn’t be used like one. LTE is so you can keep in contact for those times you leave your phone at home, not so you can work an entire day using just your watch.

BS, I get 1-2 days not charging and wearing it while I sleep. If I charge it while I brush my teeth and shower, in the mornings and evenings, I will typically get 3-4 days, at which point I only need to fully recharge it for an hour or two.
