Am I the only one who doesn't really care about this stuff? Meaning, I'll stand up when I'm ready to stand up! I don't plan on adjusting my behavior to conform to the whims of an engineer at Apple.

I actually quite like it. When I'm sitting at my desk working away, many hours can pass without me noticing. So I like that I get little reminders to get up and move about, good for the circulation.

I'm in the habit now that when the first one goes off ill go and make the bed, then I'll put a wash on, that sort of thing.

On topic, mine doesn't pester me if I've been up and moving about, it just registers that as my movement. It only goes off when I've been sat down for an extended period.

Oh. I think I'd find that very annoying and intrusive

Maybe you would, but for me it really isn't. It's just a gentle tap with a message that tells you you did it and go on with your stuff. You will never get these reminders if you stood up by yourself a minute or so every hour. In a way it have made me realise how many hours I have spend on the past without mooving from my desk at work.

Besides, you have the option to turn these reminders off anyway.

Other day I was in the theater watching the new avengers movie. In the middle of the movie, watch told me to stand up. I was like B!t## you crazy.

Yes, it does notify you when it is satisfied with the amount of time you stood up. But that is only after it alerts you to stand up. If you stood up with out being alerted by the watch, it will silently record it on the activity app.

It silently records while you're eating toast in the morning, showering, and when you poop too.

Turned this feature off. It would tell me to stand up when I had just sat back down after walking around. Finally told me to stand up while I was already standing and after having just walked to another room. Too gimmicky for me.

Ridiculous feature. Apple Watch 2 will probably include a feature to notify you when it's time to eat or drink.

Mine does that occasionally, but I think it has to do with the swing of your arms. I spent almost an hour walking around the grocery store and as soon as I got back into my car, it told me to stand up. My guess is that even though I was walking, I had my hands on the shopping cart so my arms were swinging. Same thing if you're walking around with your hand in your pocket....it doesn't detect the movement. I'm not concerned about it. If it happens, I just go for another short walk :)

Well, if it's anything like the sensors in the iPhone 6/ 6 Plus, it should still work when your arms are out. The accelerometer + gyroscope should still pick this up.

To all that are having problems with standing, calories and exercise minutes, you need to calibrate your device for better accuracy. I went a week without calibrating and was annoyed that everything seed off. Calibrated last week and everything has now been more accurate.

I just moved around for 10 minutes, up and down stairs, bending down to gather laundry, put the laundry in the machine, started soaking hand washables, then came back downstairs. No credit for standing. Not thrilled about that because I worked out for my 30 minutes today and had a chance to close all the rings. Won't happen now because I won't stay up till midnight just to get them closed. Not particularly motivating.

Rebooting the watch and I hope the next few hours will be better. Not enough energy to try the above calibration today.

ETA: reboot helped, as did letting my arms hang by my side when moving. I tend to bend my arms at the elbows when moving around.

Sorry for the stupid question, but is a reboot just turning the watch on and off or did you reset the whole thing?

I have a slightly different issue-it thinks i'm standing up all the time, when really I'm sitting down...it's 1pm here and my blue ring is almost full (thats what she said).
Anyone know how to stop that?
