Today is Sunday, Sept 10, 2017. Apple will hold its iPhone event in 2 days on Sept 12, 2017 at its fancy-shmancy new digs.

All the major news outlets have begun publishing all the rumors we've talked about for months or even longer. Tech and rumor sites will do rumor round-ups and other articles to continue to peak interests.

The community will run wild asking the impossible questions that will only be officially revealed on Tuesday.

Maybe it's time to take a break, take a walk, and take a breath. Then return on Tuesday to watch Apple impress us all with its new shiny iPhone goodness. Then we can reconvene after breaking the internets with our pre-orders and discuss our excitement and disappointment and everything in-between.

Of course, if you can't get enough of Apple and their gadgets, then I have no problems with you continuing your business as usual :)

Really? I'm really looking forward to this event, the iPhone X/Edition sounds great from the leaks so far.
Since the launch of the iPhone 6/6+ I have never appreciated the camera bump and the antenna lines.

Apple eventually did away with the antenna lines with the 7/7+, but they increased the size of the camera bump on both models.

At a certain point you start to think that Apple considers the camera bump to be a design element. I don't agree with that, I see it as a detraction and I don't appreciate a design with it included.

This is not limited to just Apple for me. I don't care for camera bumps in general so there are plenty of other phones/devices I don't like because of that.

I've been told that it's a design limitation and physics says that the bump must exist. However, the dimensions of the 7/7+ are not different than those of the 6/6+/6s/6s+ and yet Apple increased the size of the camera bump. I realize the 7+ has dual cameras, but they could have replicated the 6s+ camera bump twice (although I hate that look too) rather than creating some lozenge looking thing.

Other manufacturers, such as Huawei with their P10 Plus, can create a dual camera flush with the body of the phone.

So, very simply, Apple purposely chooses to keep the camera bump.

There is nothing I do with my current phone that I could not do with my iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1 in 2012. So, the internals of a phone really have no attraction to me unless said device cannot do basic email, text, light internet browsing and most important of all - phone calls.

Consequently, I can and do base my purchasing decisions on the appearance of a device. And I am not liking at all what I see in the 'leaked' pictures of the new iPhone.

I'm not in the market for any new hardware so won't watch the event (happy with my 6S and 2013 rMBP), but am enjoying the iOS11 and High Sierra betas. I'm looking forward to those coming out of beta and entering public release. And then the betas of 11.1 and 10.13.1 :)

I like to watch the events even if I know everything they will introduce or am not interested in those particular products. It's a better education in marketing than I could ever get from an ivy leave school. They are just masters at it and I try to incorporate what I learn into my company.

Gosh, your parents did a real number on you I see.. ✌

Mine did too.. takes one to know one.

Good, one less person to reduce my chances of securing a new iPhone X for launch day delivery when pre orders go live. The more people who don't like the phone, the higher chance for the rest of us at having a new iPhone delivered in reasonable time.

I don't understand your grip with something that is on the back of the phone

Weird. The camera bump is all but invisible to me. I've had the 6 Plus, the 6S Plus, and I'm currently using a 7 Plus. Barring horribly disappointing news, I'll be getting the iPhone X/Edition/Pro/WhateverIt'sCalled.

It doesn't get in the way of anything, to doesn't feel odd, and honestly, it's no more disruptive to the look of a device than a camera lens/flash to begin with.

I mean, I'm not trying to get anyone to change their minds, I just cannot relate at all to someone that dismisses a device out of hand for something as innocuous as a camera bump, no matter how many other magnificent features it has.

This nothing's related to human living ,
peope still work and eat and sezzz .... there is more important things to do

I dunno, complaining about a camera bump just sounds whinny. I've loved my 6 plus and even though I'm not into smart phones like I use to be, a tiny camera bump isn't keeping me up at night.

Possibly because we have different priorities?

I live wih my device for 2 to 3.5 years. I want to like what I am looking at daily for that span of time. And the fugly camera bump is not something I'd like to see every day.

That's just me and has no bearing on anyone else's decisions.

It's just my preference. I consider the bump to be ugly. I dismiss other things because since iOS 6 Apple has yet to offer a feature of iOS that I really must have.

I use my phone for calling, texting, email and light web browsing. Between home and work and coffee shop I have access to a computer 24/7 so I don't need a phone for anything other than that.

And my computers, DVD player and television make much better devices for other purposes.

So, again, it comes down to aesthetics for me.

I've owned my 6 plus since day one and honestly can't remember the last time the bump has ruined my day. I get that it's your decision and appreciate that.

But the iPhone is gorgeous, and a small little notch on the back should not ruin the experience for you. Seriously.

Eric has a different point of view, and he isn't going to change how he feels about it, and that is ok. Some of us go down different tech roads. I have discussed this issue with Eric before as have many others. Sometimes, you just have to realize Eric is wrong (just kidding, Eric ;)) and move on, lest you stop and realize that he could say the same about anyone to the contrary (me included).

I apologize but have no idea who Eric is? You mean eyougren? It's all good and I totally get it..people like what they like. It's just the damn iPhone is beautiful lol and to pass just cause of a camera bump is nuts

I appreciate that English obviously isn't your first language but I do wonder if you talk in riddles?
