When I say immature (thanks for fixing my misspelled word
), I mean with the lack of maturity in their answer, nothing related to their age.
I found blocking the annoying post a good quick solution, also I'll be reporting those that generate offensive personal attacks between MR members.
And yes there are very good discussions, and I always learn something new, I was just tired of seeing that kind of waste/non-value added in many posts out there.

Sometimes the issue is too many posts, for example on some of the most popular front page news discussions. I prefer reading the comments on the same story on Arstechnica, as there are simply less comments to go through.

We're not going to restrict or segregate the forums by age since it's a lousy indicator for the quality of posts. We'll just have to learn to get along. Shall we all hold hands, stand in a circle, and sing?

But I do tend to agree certain threads/posts turn into flametober fest, it's the internet.... It's full of the stupid and immature unfortunately
It gets worse than that. Check out an unmoderated political forum. Or a movie site. Or an, ahem, adult site with unrestricted comments.
