I wasn't looking forward to this at all until I played the beta. The speed and gameplay remind me of quake 3, RTCW and unreal tournament 2 on PC years ago. Got my order in for it now.

As much as I approached the game with scepticism and have been critical of elements I do not like - I am looking forward to getting the final game.

It's the only multiplayer shooter that has intrigued me in the last 5 years or more so that at least is testament to me enjoying the beta although critical of it at the same time.

I thought just Live was required, but now it is saying Live Gold at $60 per year is.

So I guess maybe the console won't be checking for an active subscription to their internet account, but the games you buy will...

But all online games on the 360/one require paid xbox live gold so find it strange you thought this would be different?

Maybe it's a naming convention that confuses as on the xbox one I thought they have remove the naming convention differentiator so you simply either have an xbox live subscription or do not... There is no more silver/gold .....

It is possible to have an account, but not a subscription. My XB360 logs in regardless if I paid or not....

So what's everyone's experience so far?

Game comes put, and everyone falls silent...too busy playing?

I have been playing on the Xbox One and really like the game so far. My only complaint is when you get into a situation with two or three Titans in close proximity to one another the game lags seriously. A bit disappointing given this is supposed to be the big game to show off the power of the new Xbox.

Game matchmaking needs some work also, and I have read they are working on a patch for that.

My biggest complaint is that whilst the game does a good job of easing new players into things, once you get past level 12-14 you will often find yourself in matches with players levels 30-40+ and you are just annihilated all the time. It undermines the progress you thought you had been making and makes you feel like a goon all over again. Better level matching would have been appreciated - as it stands despite spending hours in and finishing campaign a couple of times - I feel often utterly useless in the game and it destroys the early enjoyment of progression I got in the game.

The campaign is a complete waste of time & resources, and is just pointless.

I love just hopping in games and playing regular matches, but the addition of the 'campaign' was just so flawed. It isn't really a campaign, but where a bunch of noobs seemed to be put on one side, while a party of level 40 or higher are put on another side, with some exposition thrown in. The campaign is easily the biggest sore spot on an otherwise really really fun game.

The campaign is not a waste of time and its not pointless. Its sadly the only way to get the two extra titan chassis. I agree the campaign sucks though.

I liked the campaign as it basically is a tutorial. For new players to multiplayer shooters it gets them to grip with the game and rewards them with a gentle progression. But yeah it's definitely skewed completely to deliver the inevitable outcome of each match as the developers wanted their fairly inconsequential story to play out...

The campaign was a waste, and a tacked on one at that. It's just multi player with some barely comprehensible exposition filling in the long time between matches.

They could have made unlocking the other chassis' dependent on rank or challenges. They made them unlockable via the campaign, because otherwise few would play the busted campaign. The campaign also needs to be made non party playable. Too often many people playing the campaign are players who literally just started the game, and enter to face a party of experienced players who now troll campaign matches just for newbs. It's the weirdest thing to walk into your first match and the other team has particle walls, plasma cannons, and LMGS, things you won't learn of for a dozen levels or more.

The campaign doesn't really teach anything that playing the variety pack play mode wouldn't. Campaign is nothing more than Attrition with a scattered Hardpoint match tossed in every now & then. Regular Hardpoint tells you what to do just as much as the campaign. If the campaign was going to teach anything it would have Last Titan Standing and Pilots only, focusing you just those play styles for a bit.

None of this detracts from the enjoyment of the game, but the campaign's implementation on a game that is online only, is simply shoe horned. Campaign's seem to work best as standalone, non online dependent entities, with a clear cognizant storyline & characters.

After doing the campaign twice, I'm not sure I could tell you what that pissing contest was about at the last mission, or who even the lone female was in the game.

Not really much of a campaign, but a hell of a fun multiplayer game!

I see what you are saying and yes its a waste of disc space, but what I meant was , its not a waste of time to do, since you unlock the chassis's. But I agree the unlocks could have been in another mode.

What I was saying is people shouldn't skip them because they do have unlocks that you need.

I also meant to clarify that technically you get default Ogre & Stryder from the start in the game. You just don't get to customize when you unlock the customize feature for your Atlas, unless you've finished the campaign X2. So if you don't mind using the base chassis, you can skip the campaign altogether.

I'm also realizing the game needs some small matchmaking setting. Been trying to go back and win all the missions I lost in Campaign, and all you face is teams of 3 Gen or higher teams on the other squad in a party. Ugh!

Also more ass on the campaign side, if you want to go back to win those missions for the achievement, the game doesn't indicate what missions you won or lost. So have to remember or just play missions over & over till the achievo pops. Even then, for some the achievement is glitched and may not record correctly until you log out and back in.

yeah I found that super annoying and I am not going to bother trying to get that achievement. I was wondering why I couldn't figure out which matches I lost. So I just gave up and am not going to bother trying to win them all. It should put a W or L on the map you beat or lost in the campaign.

Wrapping up the whole Campaign assery...

Finally popped the achievements for finishing both sides with all wins. Took most of the weekend and was a grind. My biggest hangups were that I often ended up on teams that completely sucked ( great for hitting that MVP challenge though ), or for some reason don't grasp how Domination ( Hint: While holding two points makes the game longer, it does allow you to control where the team spawns. And chasing the always open point, NEVER ends well ) works. So I ended up playing some maps over & over to win. Specifically Demeter & Boneyard.

Also you have no control over what side you join as. So after I completed the Militia wins, I ended up needing two maps for IMC, and the game kept putting me on the Militia side for those maps. Really frustrating, to finally get on the IMC side only to face parties of 2nd gen or higher wrecking my team.

My suggestions for making it a little more bearable is to make a list yourself of what you won and what side. It will mean going back and starting from the beginning, but once you do it will make it more manageable. Also if you're not sure how far you are, go to your achievements and check those two unlocked achievements, it will give you percentage done.

Strangely enough, the achievement for doing 50 campaign missions ( which I know I have done easily ) says 100% for me, but isn't unlocked. On the flip side, I earned a A LOT of exp, taking me from 35 to 48, so worth it in the end. When you have a good game in campaign you get great points.

Campaign aside, when I took a break and played with friends, the fun really returns. Playing Last Titan Standing is a great way to work on your Titan skills and collect exp. It's so different hearing so many people on your team saying how much fun the game is, and yelling out their highlights. I don't remember that in CoD in quite some time.

I suppose that's what annoys me so much about the campaign. Titanfall itself is such a well balanced FPS game, showing what Respawn has learned from their days as IW, that it makes the campaign look half assed. It's incredible that they've made a game that casual players can play side by side with hardcores and still have a good time. They've made large maps that support vehicles but still have close quarters combat constantly. Even more impressive they've made an always online game, without the usual gnashing of teeth from the console ( Me being one of those who hates always online. I still say always give me an offline single player to tide me over if the internet is down. That's what made games like the Gears series so strong. ) gaming community.

Add a Mercenary mode, and this will be the game that easily tides over Xbox One owners until Destiny.

This EuroGamer Article shows a graphic comparison between xbox 1, 360, and PC. When side by side the 360 version is blurry. I'd have to see the actual game on a 360 (which I own) to make a real determination if I could stand it.

I went and looked at the other stills on the site.

Question: if you were actually playing the game and moving, would you even notice? I'm not sure a captured still frame really accurately reflects your experience. I also think that, while it "seems" blurry, you would adjust to it anyway. Just my $0.02...

That was excellent. Mostly what I notice is better shading on the XO version, but no significant difference in gameplay due to graphics. It reminds me a bit of the difference between Direct X 10 vs 9.

I have it on the Xbox One and that video surprised me a bit also. Other than a little more brightness and detail in some areas, I agree overall there was nothing I saw on that 360 video that looked like it would impact gameplay at all.

If I understanfpd correctly, no solo campaign would probable stop me from Pruchasing this title. I don't do xbox live other than the market place.

The resolution is ridiculously low on Xbox 360, it's barely HD (600p) and runs at 40fps on average. Seems like it pushes the old console a little bit too much. That's going to be the main difference.

What they are calling "campaign mode" is really a structured series of multiplayer online chapters you can optionally play. There is no single player campaign at all.
