TITANIUM IPHONE 4 (iPhone 4 Titanium Back Cover)

When I used a metal back I found it did interfere with reception. However my metal back was a cheap 2 dollar one of eBay and not a better quality one like the OP's.
I think one metal back is going to interfere with the reception as much as any other metal back. Probably why we won't see it on the next iPhone. Liquid Metal itself is a blend of 3 or more metals, so maybe not even that.

Hello everyone,

I have seen so many threads out there regarding Titanium iphone 4 and some Titanium iphone 4 backs covers, but never seen one that is made of Titanium and one that maintains the simple representation of apple's original minimalistic design concept. So I tried to make my own back, just to see what the phone would look like.

This is not for sale, and it's just my own little project just to realize my dream iphone (at least before the iphone 5 comes out, anyway). I was able to get some blank titanium back from the folks at mas design (www.maselements.com), which some viewers commented on from previous forum posting. They had some interesting original designs, but they don't do apple logos, due to copyright issues. But they were kind enough to provide me with some blanks with the Ti symbol on the bottom. Then I went ahead and had this engraved on my own. I made it with the matching sandblast surface, matching the external antenna.

What do you think? Personally, I think if apple made an actual Titanium iPhone 4, it would look very close to this.

The phone also feels more solid than it did with the original glass cover. (around 8-9 grams heavier)

Just want to hear opinions from fellow iphone fans! How does this look to you guys?

Ill take one as is PLEASE AND THANK YOU! :p

I am confused as to how a metal backing would cause issues with reception on the iPhone seeing as how the metal band around the phone is the antenna so a metal backing is not blocking anything....

Looks good, how much did you pay for the blank?
Thinking about the brushed silver..

Obviously this is a add it's not for sale. yet he uses pics from the webs site. link price he has it all. Also plenty of threads about metal causing signal loss. looks purrdy though. I'm not interested in paying $80 to drop my signal I already pay to much for that. And ATT provides that service at no extra charge. (yet)

He wasn't saying that he didn't buy the back from that site. He's saying that he was able to obtain a blank canvas to put the Apple logo on in order to keep the original iPhone 4 minimalistic design which that site does not offer due to copyright issues.

Nice but...

I like my women and phones to have some curves...it increases the lust factor. Getting rid of the back glass is a good first step, but I hope Apple takes it further. A hybrid of the iPhone 4 and the original iPhone would be perfect for me.

yeah...does anyone know why putting on a metal back will interfere with the reception, when the antenna is on the outside? I don't have any problem with reception so far, using this Titanium back, but some a few people say they experience it. Also, the Titanium sheet is separated from the phone when seated in the black frame, anyways. This has always baffled me.....??? Does any know the technical aspect of this? Thanks!
