Realize that IMEI spoofing is highly illegal.

I didn't say it wasn't. The person asking the question wasn't looking for legal. He was directly asking for an "application" that would make T-mobile think it wasn't an iPhone.

They do know...you telling me Tmobile doesn't know...So they out to not make money...if you out to make money you would think of ways...

I mean you joking right? They do know...because they send you the carrier profile...if you every call support you will know what I mean...what do they always say?....I'm going to try and send you an update carrier profile....that files contain information and send information back to them....

It take time sometime...audit happens....sometime you are lucky...and sometime you are not...but they do know...wake up and get ready to pay the Apple tax...

This morning the data plan seems to be working fine again. No more re-routing to t-mobile pages.......hope what happened yesterday is just a glitch in the t-mobile system....

$25 is nearly the cost of the iPhone 3G S data plan. So yes he is pretty much paying the 3G price.
Seriously, neither T-Mobile or AT&T have "3G" prices.

The only difference in unlimited data plan prices is if your phone is a smart phone or a dumb phone.

How fast your phone is doesn't matter one bit in how much you pay.

att has the 2g iphone at $10 less a month than the 3g one, which is what the poster was referring to

$5.99 plan still working and i am located in Las Vegas and as for the IMEI being told what phone you are using, ......just looked at my plan and mine shows as image not available but my Daughters shows as a Samsung t629 and she hasnt used that one for two years. She has a Blackberry Pearl that i got from ebay two years ago this month.

Changed phone from "unknown" to Sidekick on my.tmobile account

I have an unlocked iphone 1st gen and the $10.00 internet plan stopped working for me yesterday as well. When I tried to browse it said that I needed to upgrade to a webconnect plan. I then went into my.tmobile account and changed my phone to the sidekick and now the internet is working fine on my unlocked iphone. Hope this helps!

Can T-Mobile users early terminate for free now? Or would they still have to pay for the ETF due to them basically scamming the system.

The early-out only applies to changes in the mandatory core pricing - such as system maintenance fees, per-minute voice rate, etc.

Changes to optional add-on fees, such as data plans, are not generally considered to be grounds for early contract cancellation, because at least in principle, you could continue to use the core service even if you discontinued the changed optional add-on.

Today, around 8am, my T-Mo Edge data seems to be working again :).
I can now access to wap sites and other non wap sites, and WorldMate, Google map application.
Still keep use same APN setting.
Hope it was a glitch.
BTW, I am in Houston, Tx.

T-mobile will waive the cancellation fee if you call customer service and tell them you are moving out of the country and cant continue using their services in that country, or simply don't want to pay the internation fees. You will then have to go to a tmobile store and provide a rep with a letter stating that fact. The rep would verify your information and cancel your account with no termination fee.

I know this for a fact, because I did this when I moved to Japan for a summer.
Now it's up to you to create a letter or not.
