I am rather much more confused... I am thinking whether to buy ipad 2 or ipod 4g or get a refurbished ipod 3g against my out of warrenty dead ipod ( that would cost half of purchaing an ipod 4g ) or whether to sell my android n purchase an iphone 4 or simply wait for ipad 3... some body help me pleaseeeeeee

PS : as being an student I have limited pocket money so I could have only one of these all so any decision to but one would be last

Keep in mind that the iPad 3 will cost at least as much as the current iPad 2 series, and possibly more if Apple decides to split up the iPad 3 product line with an even more expensive iPad 3 "Pro" or "HD" (retina display) model.

So, your main choices are:

  1. Latest iPod touch. No phone capability, although there are apps ($$) to make and receive phone calls and txt messages via wifi. No monthly costs.
  2. Some iPhone. Highly portable -- you can carry it with you always. Being able to whip it out anywhere/anytime and view maps, do a search, or check on SMS/email is wonderful (assuming that you have service, of course). Monthly costs are killer if you're on a tight budget, and you're stuck with a 2-year contract.
  3. Some iPad. Nowhere near as portable as the iPhone (unlike the iPhone, you can't carry the iPad with you 24x7 unless you really don't want a social life :p ). Can be difficult to carry around, and carrying/using it in some places just screams, "Steal me, mug me!". However, the larger display makes it much more useful, and more pleasant to use for longer periods of time. Monthly costs can range from zero to modest to high, depending on which model and plan/carrier you use. However, if you get a 3G/CDMA model, you're not locked into a 2-year contract. On the other hand, the iPad is easily the most expensive of the three, up-front (the iPhone is typically more expensive if you add in the costs of the 2-year contract). Also, keep in mind that, whenever a new iPad/iPhone comes out, lots of people dump their previous model when they upgrade. You might want to wait for the iPad 3 and then buy someone's used iPad 2.
