If you own enough Apple products you will know there is always a problem for some with any new release. Touch wood has not happen to me yet with over 12 products.
The new laptops will be the same just read the new imac threads. Its pot luck i am afraid.
If you need it buy now and pray, if not wait and buy the new one and hope for no problems.

If you have to ask, then you should just wait. Honestly, you won't see much of a performance increase year to year. It's the 2 years or more that makes the noticeable difference. As for graphics, it matters more on the 13" (assuming the next generation still uses just the integrated graphics) as it doesn't have a discrete graphics card. One might argue battery life gains but that would be waiting a few months for maybe 1-2 extra battery life MAX. RAM-wise, 16GB is a TON of RAM.

Agree.
Every product release has it's faults.
IMO - IR should be easy to prove and easy to replace- swap out the screen- done.
I had an early Mac Air with really bad fan noise.
I was told that's normal and unfortunately it was.

In this case- Even a genius knows IR is not normal.
Should be no argument.

I pick up my 15 Friday.
Time to pray.
