Will you be putting a case on your new 13?

This phone feels so damn good without a case. The screen also looks better without all the extra borders.

Will probably continue to case up, but curious what others will do?

May just keep it naked when at home to appreciate the craftsmanship. I jeer when I hear that flagships from other manufacturers use plastic, but then I end up keeping my iPhone in…plastic.

🤷

I tend to keep my phones naked and get apple care

it’s expensive but when you factor in a good quality case and screen protector, it ends up being about twice the price

for me it’s just peace of mind. I sometimes go case though. Both are good options as long as you use a good quality case

ymmv

it’s funny; when I don’t use apple care I tend to break my phone. When I do have apple care and that peace of mind I very rarely end up breaking my phone.

yes; The YouTubers of the world complain about plastic phones in one video and then proceed to give shout outs to sponsors who sell plastic phone cases, or review plastic cases themselves

Whatever gets the clicks I guess lol

I’d love to go case-less but I’m too butter fingered; drop my phone a few times per month. I go with the thinnest case possible and am pretty happy. Mayyy try a skin this year if I’m feeling brave.

Case for me 👍🏻

Apples leather case feels great in the hand and keeps the shiny sides from all the fingerprint smudges. Not to mention the peace of mind in case an accident happens.

I would love to go without a case because my silver 13 Pro Max is a very good looking phone. But life happens, so for me I want to keep the phone looking as good as possible. I put a clear case on my phone. I also put on the phone a glass screen protector.

Always a case, but I voted "Other" because it's not about the cost. I don't care how the naked phone feels and I don't care about appreciating its beauty, aesthetics and/or craftsmanship. I don't consider my phone an art piece, it's a tool and I want it to work and not be all beat up, so it stays in a case. I'm rough on phones, and a naked/caseless phone would get thrashed pretty quickly.

I always use the very thinnest case for extra grip, but no screen protector. I’ve never cracked a screen in the 12 years I’ve been carrying an iPhone.

For what you pay plus insurance how can someone not use a case. I guess there are some out there but not me case.org.com

Back in the iPod days I got obsessive with covering every square mm with shields so it stayed perfect. But one day realized it was to high a price, always worrying.

After my first iPhone I stopped buying new and kept them long enough to go obsolete anyway so it didn’t matter if the next owner wanted them pretty.

So I take my phones, slap an egrip on the back and let the phone handle everything. Worked very well with 5-7 series. Working less well with the glass backs. But dying batteries are still a bigger concern.

With a case on the pro max does it still wobble when you place it on a flat surface (due to the camera bump)?

With a case, just because I upgrade yearly, or bi-yearly. Also due to the fact that some 3rd party MagSafe cases have much stronger magnets for a wallet.

This poll was poorly designed, but anyway…

I voted “Other” as well because, like you, it’s not about the money. The reason is because the camera bump wouldn’t allow me to put the phone down on a table without it being wobbly. Also, my case acts as my wallet. If I didn’t have the case, I’d need to have a wallet in my pocket.

The other reason is that my 6.5 year old daughter is likely to inherit this phone when she turns 10-11.

A US$5 clear case with MagSafe from Baseus on Taobao. Surprisingly good quality.

I always have a case. My preference is the Apple leather cases - they're thin, and I prefer the warmth and grip of leather vs the cold, slick metal and glass. Further, a bit of protection is a very good thing, and the case smooths out the camera bump. I've long been of the opinion that Apple's drive for thinness is motivated in large part by how thick the phones will be when in a case. As attractive as the phones are "naked," I think Apple expects that most iPhones will be fully clothed. Naked is meant for attracting our attention in the store.

I'd love to use it without a case, but thinking of re-sale value as well as how just a single drop could damage the screen/frame, the sensible option is to put it in a case.

I have to use a case because my hands are too slippery. I wash my hands a lot (even before the pandemic), so my hands are always dry and slippery.

Yesterday I took off my case for my blue 12 and discovered a chip in the paint, no clue how that would’ve happened. Anyway, I’m using the case to protect the glass first and foremost, so I’m not taking it off. It’s simply the most economic way.

I‘d like to believe I can keep my phone safe but my last phone (11 Pro Max) in the last 2 month either fell or dropped twice. With no case that beautiful phone probably would have needed a new screen or the corners would look like hell. In 2 years I’ve replace 3 Zagg screen protectors with cracks or chipped edges. I’m not a candidate for no case.

If you plan to resell the phone get a case, if you plan to own it till it dies then don't. I didn't use a Case with my 2020 SE and I loved it. That being said it was a $400 phone and it did get beat up, but still works great. I cased my 13 PRO mainly so when I sell it at some point it will be worth more.

To me it just feel uncomfortable holding the phone naked with the sharper metal conners, reason why i go with the thinnest lightest case i can get. I rocked this with the 12 pro max now with the 13 pro max. Pitaka air case.
