Will you be putting a case on your new 13?

Always a case, and for the last 5ish phones, always a Loopy case. I just love how it helps me hold/grip my phone and use it one handed.

If I keep this phone I have no choice but to get a case. I hate this flat-edged design with a passion. The previous generations and other phones I’ve used with rounded edges makes the phones so much easier to hold. Also, to me, gives the feeling of the phone being smaller than it really ease. This flat design is an ergonomic nightmare for me.

I tend to keep my phones naked and get apple care

it’s expensive but when you factor in a good quality case and screen protector, it ends up being about twice the price

for me it’s just peace of mind. I sometimes go case though. Both are good options as long as you use a good quality case

ymmv

it’s funny; when I don’t use apple care I tend to break my phone. When I do have apple care and that peace of mind I very rarely end up breaking my phone.
I'm curious, what iPhone case and screen protector costs twice the price of AppleCare?
AppleCare is what, $10/month, in 2 years thats $240. What iPhone case and and screen protector? I'm curious.
I myself have AppleCare+ with theft, I wouldn't say its more cost effective than having a case and protector.. it's merely insurance.

I guess not everyone is in love with the classic design. I feel more grip with this design in my opinion.

never buy AC+, didn’t use screen protector until the 11PM when all the reviews said scratches were easy because screen was soft. so i opted for the leather case as well because the camera bump and my need for flat phone.

skipped the 12 now have the 13PM and once again reviews are saying the glass is softer than the 12 so another screen protector and case this year.

I’m also of the opinion that using a case to keep the phone looking nice for the next owner is absurd, but do what makes you happy.

iPhone 13 PM and I roll case-less with AC+. Love the feeling in the hand.

Naked so I can see my pink phone, I don't like how clear plastic cases can retain an oily feel or the extra dimension it adds, and no screen protectors adding a lip to the edge.

Only broken one phone screen, an S8+ that I was spinning in between my thumb and middle, so I stopped doing that.

Using the phone the way I get to enjoy it most and not cater to the next person to own it if I choose to sell.

Never used a case on any of my Phones. What's the point of buying a nicely designed Phone and then hiding it with an ugly case. I dropped one out of the 10 iPhones I had over the years, so I don't bother with Apple Care either.

You still need to pay for a replacement if you use apple care. I’ve never understood the ‘I have apple care’ argument. You’re going to risk damaging your phone because you can always pay money for a new one?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to just protect your phone and save money, instead of always being prepared to cough up potentially, $79? (Or however much it costs)

I can appreciate some people like to see their phone and use it without a case. Personally I prefer to use a case. Maybe I’m just used to always having one. That and the fact that 99% of the time I’m looking at the front of the phone.
But each to their own. Use your phone how you want to use it, I’ll do the same.

I was all caseless and no screen protectors. But bought new SE2, and my kid made a huge scratch out of nowhere in week 1. Even have no idea what she used to scratch it, i didn't see any keys around, so probably sometimes these screens catch a scratch from the air. Since then i am using screen protectors on my other new phones, cause that scratch was really distracting.
Also went caseless on SE1 and dropped it the same day - all of the back had micro dings, which ruined the looks and feel. You could feel every ding with your hand.

For me it's more about "keeping it working" than it is about "keeping it nice looking". I always buy AC+, but I live 2 ½ hours from the nearest Apple Store. Having a screen or back replaced is a long round trip drive, burning about a tank and a half of gas, and taking up the better part of a whole day. I'd rather just not bust up my phone in the first place. And I like the look and feel better in a case anyway, so it's a win/win for me.
Yep, thats fair enough, cant fault on that my friend.

I had a 7 plus for 5 years and kept it in its case because I don’t like scratches on my phone, not because I was keeping it nice for its next owner. Some people just like to keep things looking newish.
I understand that you like to keep it free from scratches, but for the 5 years you had it, it had a case, it could have been really scratched up but you will have never known.
