Will you be putting a case on your new 13?

Personally I purchased naked skins and go without a case. I do buy AppleCare if I happened to break the screen, which has never happened to me

I don't like cases, iPhones are stunning and I dont like to cover it up so the next owner will have a pristine iPhone to show off. Having said that, I have bought a cheap one from Amazon because the camera lenses are just to big and will get damaged.

Case. I hate the feeling of the naked phone, it’s like a wet bar if soap plus it only takes one drop to ruin your phone, I wish they didn’t make them out of glass

I've never been a case in phone guy (but do use a sleeve for carrying in pocket) but the jumbo camera module and hard flat edges require a case me thinks.

Working from home I am case less while at home. If I need to go out and it’s raining I pop on my Midnight leather or Abyss blue if raining. But now the Apple Care back and front replacements are only $29.99 the cost risk ratio is better for those not wanting to have a case.

In my old days of using android phones i always went caseless. That was before glass backed phones too though. I remember the HTC One M8 was one of my favorite phones to look at and hold. Took a few spills and the small scratches on the aluminum just made it feel more like a bespoke tool. Ever since switching to iPhones though I’ve been using cases. And nowadays the phones are a little too heavy, slippery, wide, and expensive to go without a case.

A case. Any case. But I’ve already dropped my iPhone 13p 😅 (it’s fine)

Agreed. Just taken my XS Max out of its case(hopefully my 13PM turns up this week). Couldn’t imagine carrying it around caseless.

I took my XS Max out of it’s case to sell - flawless. As much as I’d like to, I couldn’t bring myself to carry an iPhone around caseless.

I use the Spigen clear case ... it's a nice "middle of the road" ... not quite naked but it does allow the beauty of the phone to come through nicely .

Did a search as I knew someone would have already asked the “case or no case” question. I was leaning towards going caseless this time with my 13 Pro but I realize one plus for a case is they reduce accidental screen contact at the bottom corners. Without a case I notice I’m constantly triggering the Dictation feature.

Also, as someone else noted, having a case should reduce the camera bump effect. So I’ll probably get another Apple leather case.

I ended up with my go to commuter case with a pop socket no black leather Apple cases to be found.

I never use a case. It doesn’t matter how much the phone costs. If you feel you have to baby the phone because of the cost, then you can’t afford to own it.
This makes no sense. Wanting to keep your phone nice looking means you can’t afford it? Huh??? That’s like buying a Porsche and letting it get dinged up all the time

No case, however I do use a screen protector and have wrapped the frame with a clear skin. I turned in my 12PM—IUP, and it was flawless. I have not even looked at cases for the 13PM and put on a clear skin once it arrives.

Does the color of the phone really matter that much ? It's going in a case and one really doesn't enjoy the color, so shouldn't the color of the case be more Important ? My 12PM is blue but all I see is black cause my case is black, no screen protector as a screen replacement is only $29 so I see no point.

I will be getting a 13PM as soon as it is in stock ay my local store, color is whatever I will never see it, now the case is where I will be more focused on what color/type, that is what ill see all day.

Who are you keeping it nice looking for? While it is in it's case you cant see it. You are really keeping it nice looking for it's next owner, I prefer to see it looking nice.

I understand the reasoning if one is going to sell it.

Some of you guys act as if using a case guarantees your phone won’t break. Screens break all the time within a case. I’ve dropped my phone many times without a case and it hasn’t broken.

Since my iPhone 11 Pro Max, I’ve been using my iPhones caseless. Especially the iPhone 12PM and 13PM feel so good in your hand!

I would spend so much money on cases and screen protectors so I decided to use this money towards Applecare+. I pay in full for it every year, and once I'm ready to sell my phone and buy the new iPhone, I request a refund for the unused period.

“Keeping it nice for its next owner”

Huh. Interesting and valid perspective and food for thought.

I had a 7 plus for 5 years and kept it in its case because I don’t like scratches on my phone, not because I was keeping it nice for its next owner. Some people just like to keep things looking newish.

So you cover it in a case to keep it looking nice, because you hate scratches, even though you now never see it. How much sense does that make?

For me it's more about "keeping it working" than it is about "keeping it nice looking". I always buy AC+, but I live 2 ½ hours from the nearest Apple Store. Having a screen or back replaced is a long round trip drive, burning about a tank and a half of gas, and taking up the better part of a whole day. I'd rather just not bust up my phone in the first place. And I like the look and feel better in a case anyway, so it's a win/win for me.
