If this method is efective we would have seen results already. You know, copy and paste, real MMS, real SMS, global search and on and on. I think the suggestion box goes straight to the trash.

Well it only lasted for like a week before then it was forgotten about

Suppose they don't want to make the iphone perfect. Suppose they want to keep releasing an improved iphone every other year.
I'm sorry I have to bring this one up, but, that's sort of what capitalism is about.

if you make one product that is perfect, and never breaks, and lasts for a very long time,
then your consumers don't need to buy another product that offers same abilities, which means your company wont be selling products.. which is bad for the company.

they'll definitely make all of those improvements..but very slowly.. its in their best interest.

which is sad for technology evolution.

electric cars would have been made decades ago if it wasn't for capitalisms greed for money.

Ask GM and every other American automobile manufacturer how well this strategy worked for them. Eventually (and it may take years though) people will start realizing your product is inferior and they will move on. And once this happens, only with extreme changes will you regain these customers again. I hope Apple has kept an eye on what is happening in Detroit.

As for Nick, with all due respect, I really think you should change your attitude about buying an iPhone no matter what. As some posters have already pointed out, this is what causes Apple to ignore their customers - because they know they will just be coming back for more. Myself, I love my iPhone, but I am totally prepared to switch to something better (and it really has to be better) when my contract is up. I won't shead one tear if I have to switch from the iPhone, but I would really hope Apple would keep up with the competition so I don't have to.

I have already sent out 11 "feedbacks" over the last 40 days and I likely keep going (even if they do end up in an interns inbox).

Just saw this thread. (Good idea to start - I wish the concept was actually stickied or referenced in BlueVelvet's Stickys (maybe that's something to politely request? :) )
I remember compiling a summary of points on the software thread (it's probably a third in, i'd imagine that thread has grooooown) and don't mind getting it up to date when I have the time if that'd be useful.

It might be long, but hopefully comprehensive - good to see all the different points raised.

Apple has been shown to have previously gone out to get feedback on the iPhone if my memory serves me correctly. It'd wouldn't be instant, and i'd imagine a lot of the things they've had on their books for months (and it's unlikely they'd just drop a 2.x.x. patch to throw in C&P - why? because C&P is lower down their prorities, so other things are more important to them).

In my eyes it'd be nice to see a decent thread on v3 iPhone, which could cover these improvement possibilities (hardware, software, plus new ideas), but it's a bit all over the forum shop at the moment...

It never ceases to amaze me that c/p was lower on the priority list than Google Street View!?!
