switched from the XS to the XR and zero regrets.. battery life is beyond stupidly awesome.. I’m also sporting it 100% naked.

How much better is the battery life when compared to your XS Max? How many extra hours of screen on time do you get?

i didn’t have the “max” .. but my XR can get 9 hours screen time and still have about 20% left.

Wow. That's exactly what I was thinking of getting. I think the black looks really sleek. And 64gb isn't cutting it anymore.
One of the selling points of the XR for me was better pricing for storage.

Funny thing is after I completely reset my 64gb iphone x it cleared out the 30ish gigs of "other" and I had enough space left.

I'm planning on buying the XR. Has anyone experienced stutter/lag issues that seem to be widespread on the Xs/Max on the XR? Some people say it seems to be an issue with A12.
No issues here. In fact, I find myself wondering how phones will get any faster. How much faster does an app need to open. Starting with the A9, and really the A10, the phones are so overpowered for most any apps on the market.

I went with the black 128GB as well. It think at the very least, Apple could have gone with 128GB base on the XS models at the same pricing. A XS at $999 with 128GB is more compelling. But still not worth $200 more than the 128GB XR in my opinion.

No, and I'm taking a wild guess it's because of the 820p screen

Ok no big surprise the edge detection in portrait mode isn’t as “natural” looking as the X. Not bad but some edges are not as “smooth” on non humans

It’s only optimized for humans based on what I’ve read. It uses machine learning and not an actual depth map.

I’ve been more and more impressed with the Xr battery life. My son has been able to watch YouTube and play games on it during most of the day and I still have plenty of juice left over at night for me.

I’ve grown to overall just not enjoy my XR much. I’m still not used to the display, the size is awkward, and it’s the buggiest iPhone I’ve ever used. I also seem to constantly trigger the flashlight in my pocket somehow (okay that one is a me problem).

But the battery life is stellar. I listened to music off and on, streamed with Bluetooth on my commute (2 hours), and plenty of texting and forum posting and I’m at 61% here - took it off the charger 17 hours ago. Not bad.

Going to probably send it off to a family member who’s working a 6 still if the new Galaxy does it for me, or a Pixel 3 if they drop price.

I used halide to enable portrait mode on non humans.

I just noticed the edges. Hopefully apple works on this.

Got mine for a few days now,
The only thing I don’t like that much is the coral pink color for a guy but the phone is great
The battery is great and the camera is great

I passed on a really good deal on a 256gb iPhone because it wasn’t a color(Coral) I liked

When did colour start to define gender?! Get whatever you like. Personally, I don’t think me wearing pink shirt lessens my masculinity or my girlfriend wearing a blue top lessens her femininity a single bit. What has the world come down to these days?!

He regrets not getting an XR in a color that completely aligns with his preference of colors it's not that serious, please stick to the topic of this thread.

I don't like coral, I don't have anything that matches coral, I don't want my iPhone to be a color that attracts any type of attention, therefore, I didn't want that color.

THAT BEING SAID, the first thing I did with my black iphone is cover it with a case and you can't even tell what color it is anyhow so either way for me it's a non-issue.

Sad to say I was ultimately disappointed in the XR. I tried my best to like it but I realized the compromises coming from an 8+ weren’t worth it for me personally.

Most people coming from an older phone will enjoy it. The color and contrast are fantastic, the display looks better than it sounds on paper but the difference in sharpness was too noticeable to me in actual usage. The 8+ is just a better device overall for reading/writing text and watching video but even the older Plus phones will look washed out in comparison to the excellent color reproduction of the XR’s display.

Haptic Touch isn’t a replacement for the fluidity and functionality of 3D Touch, and I’ve realized I use 3D Touch dozens of times a day. For the consumer it’s designed for it’s a beautiful phone, and for everybody else who isn’t sensitive to Apple’s PWM implementation there’s iPhone XS which in my opinion is worth the premium — at least to enthusiasts that notice the differences.

As a silver lining, the XR made me appreciate my 8+.

The only issue I had with the plus iPhones was the overal size. To use one handed I always risked dropping my phone due to readjusting my grip with one hand to reach certain parts of the screen and or unintentionally touching the screen with my palm. Plus it was uncomfortable carrying around in my gym shorts.

Not a bad product at all but after using the smaller but taller screen equipped X I could never go back to a plus again.

Very nice phone, and Red beautiful color.
Not so difficult to get use to. Considering I come from a SE that died a month ago.
The size of the phone isn't that difficult to get use to. And a LOT better and speedier then the old SE.
But yes, it's bigger....in pockets. But it works.
