Yes, the Marware is designed for the new iPad, and no, the ones for the iPad 2 won't fit. These cases are a very, very tight fit.

since I am coming from the 1st gen iPad. What would be a good backing for the new iPad with a smart cover. I had a otterbox on my old iPad and I really don't want to carry that around again for 2 years lol.
