Ok, first impressions (from store):
better in the hand, maybe the same or worse on other surfaces. Do people who own it agree that it feels like the screen of older models but all over the device?
This helped a lot, even with the fact that I already decided to buy it either.
I hate to waste apples design and never had a case on my smartphones. The 6s was the first one with a case, and I ordered about ten different cases, the leather one from apple too. And every case is either too thick or with no real extra grip.
Im disappointed how apple implemented the new oled screen on the X software-wise. Every app looks the same as on a 6s but with these ugly white bars :|
I really thought they take the chance to make EVERY aspect of the os completely new for this superphone. So Im sticking with the iphone 8 until the Xs/whatever with ios 12 and the real redesign comes.
Escalated in a X rant but had to say that I would really love to buy it but what they made of it is unbelievable

I agree it's best to try for oneself, but remember that not everyone on this planet lives close to an Apple Store or even in a city. Also, a store impression doesn't really compare to real world usage. I'll follow this thread because this is a main reason I might upgrade (grip and durability).
My one week old Iphone 8 got some scratches after having slipped from my hand while removing the phone from my pocket :-( So in my opinion it is too slippery, will get some case.
