Bought it in june 2010 with 2 year contract, get upgrade at june 2012.

You might get an early upgrade if your a loyal customer or something.

You can wait till october or even next year or never and you still get that upgrade.

So if you want the new iPhone with the contract price don't buy another phone until it comes out.

Exactly 31 days before the iPhone 4 dropped (having seen exactly what it was to look like) I bought a new 3GS (32gig) on contract. Don't regret it at all. Very disappointed Apple stuck with a 3.5" screen when everyone else (even back then) had gone 4".

3GS finally gave up the ghost so I bought a used iPhone 4 a few months ago. My contract was up in January, so I can make the jump any time now. Now's a good time to grab something like the One X for the next 5/6 months until we see if Apple is still playing ball.

Your 2 year contract ends this summer

I got mine SIM Free from an Apple store in London, so no contract worries for me.

If the iPhone 5 comes out in October ,what are you going to do

I'm planning on getting one. I let the 4S pass me by, as I did with the 3GS, but as I will have probably had my i4 for over 2 years by the time the next one comes out, I think I'll treat myself.

Does at&t let you sign a new 2 year contract with the same phone and then give you the $200 early upgrade discount for the iPhone 5 in October ?

I'm on the UK and only get SIM Only deals (not sure if you have those in the US?), so I can't help you there, sorry.

Do you wait for the iPhone 5 before signing a new contract ?

How does this work

As above.

I got my iPhone 4 in July of 2010. I got it because I wanted the iPhone and AT&T had recently bought the regional carrier I was with (Centennial Wireless). I was told that the upgrade to 3G would be happening soon, so I bought the phone. Guess what nearly two years later, still no 3G!! Verizon just got 4G here. So as soon as the new iPhone comes out I am switching to Verizon.
