Just got off the phone with UPS after playing dumb and asking why there was no movement on my iPhone for over 24 hours (11:30 PM arrival time to those with matching records). He pulled up the shipment and said even though it doesn't look like it, that the package should still arrive on time to meet the delivery date tomorrow. He said it cleared security some time last night and that's what caused the delay, but he assured me that I would be able to pick it up from my customer center tomorrow.

I told him I was a crazy Apple fanatic and not to get my hopes up, he said it will be here tomorrow.

So the ball is in your court, UPS! I'm hoping I can pick it up bright and early tomorrow morning and finally get off this rollercoaster.

Thought I'd make this thread for those in similar shoes as me.

My 7+ just departed China and my AW2 is departing Japan. Both of them will be in my hands by Thursday. UPS says tomorrow but betting it will be Thursday.
I'm seriously doubting I'll have my phone tomorrow given that it's still sitting in China but this guy assured me several times that I will be able to pick it up tomorrow. We shall see.

So they say it was delayed yesterday because of a security check? Hope that's the case but mine still hasn't had a departure scan from China.

If your phone is in China still, then there is no way it will be here tomorrow. Even if it flew directly to the sort facility and left right now, it's at least a 12 hour flight. There's zero chance that it will happen.

Unless it's not really still in China and just missed a scan somewhere in the supply chain.

I had an online chat with UPS and they didn't say anything about a security check this was their response to me. It was scheduled for 9/20 delivery and now it just shows rescheduled.

Deri F.: Thanks for waiting. Your package is being held due to high volume of packages provided by the Shipper. We received more packages from this particular shipper than usual and your package will be shipped as soon as there is room in our containers. I'd recommend you to keep on monitoring your shipment on ups.com for further updates

I've watched my shipment travel from ZhenZhou in China yesterday via Seoul in South Korea, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Warsaw in Poland and Cologne in Germany today. I'm hoping it might get the UK tonight or early tomorrow because UPS are still saying it will arrive here in Central Scotland on time tomorrow. It was on flight UPS11 when it landed in Cologne so I have an alert set in flight radar to let me know when it takes off again, assuming it stays on the same aircraft.

Just called UPS again because I have nothing but free time. Was transferred to 3 departments and ended up with a specialist who guaranteed me that my packages will be here tomorrow. There has still been no movement but she said it cleared customs and will show signs of movement in a few hours.

If they pull this off I'll be seriously impressed with UPS. It still has to go to Korea, Anchorage, Kentucky, then to my nearest airport, to their hub, and then to my local customer center. That's unfathomable to me in a timeframe less than 24 hours.

I'm not optimistic that it'll arrive tomorrow. Strange that it would sit there.

My shipment started Monday (9/19) morning from Verizon in Memphis (8 hours away from me). In the past 36 hours, it has moved 4 hours closer to me. I think UPS may have enlisted some horses/buggies for deliveries...

I just called UPS and they transferred me to someone who didn't make me feel too confident that things were normal. Wouldn't tell me anything but I just got a bad feeling from what he was saying. Telling me to call Apple if I wanted details as to what was going on. Could be nothing but those who have been told they are definitely getting it tomorrow might want to prepare themselves. My iPhone has been in ZZ for about 36 hours.

Unless the phone is on the final leg to Louisville right now, it won't make it.

What does UPS My Choice show you? Is your iPhone sitting in ZZ for the last 36 hours also? If it truly is still in ZZ China then you're not getting it tomorrow. Maybe it left awhile ago and we are getting old info posted on UPS site. Who knows. This morning I got a UPS email telling me about my delivery for Wednesday. Not 2 minutes later the UPS site updated to Thursday delivery for me and many others. No movement since.

It's a mess no matter who you ask - no one knows any answers. I talked to 3 different reps today, 2 guaranteed me I'd have my phone tomorrow, the 3rd told me that my phone still had to clear customs, after the first two told me it cleared a day ago!! Really makes you think that no one at UPS or Apple knows what the hell is actually going on. For my phone to sit there for 36 hours with no updates is inexcusable.

Especially since it's sitting at some UPS facility. This is almost $2000 worth of phones I have sitting at some building in China waiting.

My original email said Wednesday too. Switched to Thursday this afternoon. I don't care if it comes next week, but I'm curious why it's not moving.

Still stuck in Korea! Finally got a response from UPS after contacting them via Twitter. They say it cleared customs and I should see delivery tomorrow. I guess their planes can travel time. Both UPS and Apple fail on this launch.

It's like expecting engineer level support from your standard run of the mill help desk person man

Throwing in my 2c and not a smartalec reply like I have been this week, UPS and USPS and FedEx dropped the ball in updating status a couple years ago. I'd simply call and check with them directly, not their incredibly delayed system.

Don't get your hopes up but it's not going to happen. Regardless of how many times you call.

I feel everyone's pain with this. I was supposed to get a launch day iPhone, and it made it to the US and everything, and then things went haywire at UPS and it got misrouted, and sorted to some other city, and then took 3 more days to show any movement. I ended up picking up the package at the customer center, because I just didn't trust them to bring it to my door at that point.

Mine went from being delivered on 9/21 (Wednesday) to 9/22 (Thursday) which Apple's website says estimated delivery on 9/22, but UPS says "Scheduled delivery information is not available at this time. Please check back later." But I just called the automated UPS line and it said to be delivered on 9/23 (Friday).

SO mad.

The sad part is, my boyfriends 70 year old grandma ordered her iPhone 7 Plus through T-mobile last wednesday, and she received it that following Saturday.. How is it that the carriers are shipping faster than Apple? This is by far the worst iPhone Preorder launch I've ever had to experience.
