I saw this in Tekserve in NYC a few days ago. Thought about getting it for my 6+ but it doesn't give any better grip. The wood grain is pretty slick. I'm sure the ridges provide some additional grip but with the 6+ you really need something that sticks to your hand so it doesn't slip around when using one handed.

I decided today to remove the toast case from my phone and I thought I would share my experience with you guys.

It was an absolute pain in the ARSE!!!!

No I am really not over exaggerating, although yes the adhesive does not leave a residue but it has an unbelievable amount of strength. I struggled for more than an hour and used the hair dryer method and it was still an absolute pain to get off and also resulted in some pretty numb fingers after the persistent picking.

Just so you've got a better understanding I've attached a photo of the remnants of the case after I managed to get every single bit off and yes it kept breaking into little tiny pieces as I tried to "peel" it away.

Just to add more of a challenge as if that wasn't enough I was being quite careful not to apply too much heat as I really didn't want to damage my phone in any way. So never went more than the sort of heat the phone feels like when it is under max cpu.

Then theres the added complication that as you pull away the skin you have to be careful not to do it in a manner that it deforms the phone (the way the unbox therapy guy did his bend test).

The good part to all of this is that I now have the skin off and my phone is back to mint condition without any resulting marks/scratches/glue/bending......... phew:cool:

TL;DR Nightmare to get off, took over an hour and came off in tiny little pieces. Managed to get it off after a lot of effort & patience thankfully the phone is in mint condition.

Mind if I ask why you removed it? I was hoping to get a custom Toast skin for my 6, but now I'm downright frightened! # It wasn't super easy to take off of my 5, but nothing like what you've described. It took maybe 10 mins - love how it protected the phone...came out all shiny shiny!
