That luck tho

I want to grab myself a Power Mac G4 Cube, but they're so expensive. Those TiBooks are too, that's a really super good price you got for it, and it works too. I got my PowerBook G4 (12") and I have to say it's a hunk of junk. Its graphics processor is temperamental, and it was sold as "working without fault". I was really irritated, and even though we tried doing something about it back when I did get it, nothing really came from it. I only paid $23 to buy it and another $40 to have it shipped (eBay sellers love to gouge Canadians on shipping, that $40 on shipping is nothing compared to some other things) so it's not really too much of a bad thing.

I'm still waiting to come across the perfect deal for a Power Mac G4 Cube. It's gonna be a while, but I'll wait :)

How much is expensive? There is one on eBay for $99 with no PSU, which go for around $30

It depends on several things like the device itself, its age, what kind of hardware, the condition, etc. I would say $100 for a PowerBook G4 (an older one) is expensive. I would say $100 for a 2 year old laptop (a mid-range model) is cheap. Opinions on the pricing of PowerPC machines vary, but unless it's something like a Power Mac G4 Cube, Power Mac G3 all-in-one, or a much more late and great Power Mac G5, I would be very unwilling to pay more than $150 for any form of PowerPC machine.

I have got some really good deals on all my PPCs, $75 for a Quad (ended up being a prototype), $50 for a lot of 2 G3 Lombards, $9 for a 500MHz TiBook, $15 for a 667MHz TiBook, $60 for a 2.0GHz DP G5 (Think this was the "most expensive" of all my PPCs), $50 for a DLSD 15" PBG4, and then $150 for the Cube (with extras). I feel like I have gotten some great deals, and hope to get some more!

Those do seem to be pretty good deals. I don't have an excess in money that I could spend on things like that, so I tend to be pretty cheap. I got my PowerBook G3 for free and my Power Mac G4 for $60. My 2006 iMac set me back $200. Really kind of regret buying it, considering the fact that I could have saved that $200 and put it towards something better. That iMac kind of turned out to be a bit of a hindrance.

The problems I'm always having over here.....

Mac Mini G4 1.25ghz:
First bid: €20
Second bid: €40
Third bid: €100
Fourth bid: €200

Yea well f*** this.
"It has an Apple logo, it must be worth over 500 euros"

I love the TiBook so much, I haven't powered up my DLSD since I got the Ti. The Cube is really cool, but the Rage128, loud HDD, and 256MB RAM is bothering me so that will be dealt with. Probably a 64GB SSD, 1.5GB RAM, and a GeForce 6200

My goodness...its in such pristine condition. Happy for you dude ! I am JEALOUS...
It makes me so happy to think that it is just flawless in about every way! I got $200 for Christmas, so the TiBook is getting 1GB RAM and a 32GB mSATA SSD. The Cube is definitely getting a 64GB SSD, 1.5GB RAM, and possibly a GeForce 6200

another update!!!! So my brother decided to get me something else (he wanted a Corsair K70 KB desperately!) and this time it is an Apple Keyboard! It is the one with the acrylic frame and white keys! It complements my Mouse perfectly now! Setup gonna be fire once I get the KB set up! Expect pictures tomorrow(or later today?)!!! Side note 1000th post!!!!

Here's a pic of the keyboard and mouse that I got, now all I need to complete the whole Apple look is an ACD and an iSight camera!

The Cube would have originally come with the black Apple Pro Keyboard and Apple Pro Mouse. I have these in my Cube setup, as well as a 17" LCD Apple Studio Display, all acquired fairly cheaply.

Yeah I knew that when I got the mouse and KB, they were designed to match my Quad, and look a bit more modern. I need to pick up the pro speakers, as the cube is soundless. I am using it as a music storage thing for my ATV, but I can't find the remote so it's a dead end

The Cube came with a special set of USB speakers. I have seen a set come up very occasionally but they are not cheap and third party solutions like the Griffin iFire are even dearer.
