Steve HELPED make amazing products. But an amazing man he was not. Every read about him? He wasn’t an especially nice person to anyone, in fact he was a pretty mean guy his entire life so for me, nah not an amazing man. But I appreciate his involvement in the iPhone.

I think that's a fair assessment.

He treated his own daughter like crap. Even after acknowledging her existence he really wanted nothing to do with her. She went on a vacation with him once, but only because his current wife put her foot down and insisted that she be allowed to go. Even Bono wondered why he treated her so badly. On his deathbed, she came to see him trying one last time form a good memory of him. He basically told her she smelled like a toilet. Did he do a good job leading Apple? Yes. However, don't act like he was a saint. He was a miserable human being, and it is good that he is no longer on the planet.

Everything you said was true up until he last clause. The planet was a better place for having him, despite his human flaws.

Remember the Cube? IIRC, it was Jobs pet project. Lasted a year.

If I were in charge, you could buy a Cube with Ryzen 3700X, 16GB/m.2 nvme 512GB and Radeon 5600 XT for $1400.

Gone too soon, I miss his attention to detail and his sheer passion for his products; something I don’t *feel* from the current execs who front the modern day Apple keynotes.

Sure, we all knew Jobs seen us as customers, as income and profit, but more importantly he seen us as fellow users. His perfectionist streak ensured that, most of the time, we got devices he would be have been proud to use himself.

No one can deny that Cook has done a good job looking after the company, the profit line doesn’t lie, but when he quotes Steve it’s like he’s using a sound board; the words come out, but he doesn’t know how to live them.

Rest easy Steve, and thank you.

Apple haters only care about the CEO's personality for Apple, but couldn't care less for other companies. Its just their way of attacking Apple, because their products are so good, that's all they are left with to attack.

A visionary at Apple and helped make it what it is today but I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that he rejected medical treatment for holistic healing for the 1% of pancreatic cancer that was actually treatable that he had. Such a shame.

Many thanks too the two Steves for the "Think Different"! I've used Apple products just about every day of my life since the //+.

SJ was clearly a mentally unstable individual with huge flaws who we should not idolise - but why mischaracterise (== basically lie due to lack of context) ?
"Lisa revealed that on his deathbed her father told her: "You smell like a toilet" because she had used the air freshener in his bathroom and brought the smell with her."

leaving out that second part is illustrative of what is wrong with almost all modern media.

All in all I think that SJ died at the right time (not for him, but for his legacy), he would not have been compatible with the current social and political landscape.
