Tomb Raider Reboot Launches on iOS and Android

I'm curious, GPU-wise, how a current-model iPhone compares to a PS3.

The A19 supports ray tracing so has capabilities the PS3 could only dream of, and given that the A19 Pro is on par with high-end laptop GPUs from about 9 years ago it's a safe bet it's a heck of a lot more powerful than the 20-year-old PS3 even on graphics tasks the console was designed for, but it'd be fun to see some at least semi-direct comparison.

I can't even seem to dig up a comparable benchmark for a PC desktop GPU as old as the PS3 (the internet tells me something like the GeForce 7800 GTX is ballpark equivalent), though.

Feral Interactive is a fantastic studio for porting PC/Console games to Apple and/or Linux based platforms.

Personally, if Apple was interested in truly getting into the gaming industry, one of the best things they could do is acquire Feral, but give them the freedom to do what they do best. Just like Apple leaves a lot of control for the TV and movies on AppleTV to the writers/producers etc.

We can only dream. I would love that. They could bring more AAA games to iPad

Very much so. Before throttling the A19 Pro is quite comparable to a PS4 Pro performance wise. With sustained usage it’s closer to a base PS4.

Nah a m4 base chip is comparable to ps4 pro the a19pro is not there yet

I'm confused, 2013 wouldn't make it 30 years old.

I remember playing it on PC/ DOS in the 90s:

"The original Tomb Raider (1996) was developed by Core Design and first released for the Sega Saturn in October 1996. Due to a marketing deal, the Saturn version was released first, closely followed by versions for the Sony PlayStation and MS-DOS (PC) in November 1996."

I did like the game but I don't think I ever finished it. The feeling of isolation underground was immersive yet creepy.

I am not a big gamer (not much spare time….. 😬), so don’t need the bees-knees version, if that’s what this new release is.
Is the IOS/iPadOS version the same single player version as on Mac App Store…?

I would rather play it on my Mac.
System requirements are a bit out of date on the listing (doesn’t mention AS).
Would this work on Mac Studio with Sequoia..?

iPad plus a controller is a great retrogaming platform now.
