Open iOS Settings and tap Accessibility. Tap on Motion. Enable Limit Frame Rate to fix the refresh rate at 60Hz
Thanks, I have always assumed that Low Power Mode used 60Hz, but "Limit Frame Rate" looks much better than Low Power Mode, so I assume Low Power Mode uses even less Hz.
Yw . Lpm does limit the phone to 60hz indeed. Limite frame rate does too , it simply doesn't affect the rest (CPU clock, notifications, brightness, background processing )
I don’t know how Samsung does it, but Apple’s limit frame rate sets the maximum frame rate at 60hz. It does not fix the frame rate at 60hz. Apple is still dynamically adjusting the frame rate when you use limit frame rate (or low power mode), it just does so up to a lower maximum rate.
Sad. We haven't even used the 15PM and many bashing the battery. I honestly take the majority of these tests not that deep. The majority of us don't even use the phone daily how these phones are ran via these tests. I get my 15PM Friday. I'll give it 1-2 weeks before I even make any battery verdicts.
Agree on “bashing” without facts and proper experience is not worth taking seriously! Don’t know if I have seen so much of it though. As every year, these early tests hints on a direction of coming results, usually. We should see, according to expectations, better results of the A17 pro, we just have to see more accountable tests and factual experience before judging anything, are definitely with you on that.

Apple wants to give people a reason to purchase the iPhone Pro, so A17 sold alongside A18 Pro models makes perfect sense (and is more factual).

Sounds like you are trying to justify your purchase. Unfortunately, the facts are there. I also have a 15 Pro Max on pre-order, by the way.
No I’m not. This happens every single year. Been on iPhone since 4S. I don’t need justifications on any of my purchases. Phones/house/cars/watches. It’s all me.
Would be interesting to figure out how much one would save on throttling down to 60hz in combination with shutting off the always on screen. Think I’m going to try on my own 14 max when I have good opportunity, just to compare for my own usage.

Or, like every other year, people get hung up on one tiny specification (in this case the 3NM process) and assume it’s going to drastically change something.
Which… it’s not.
Even in the Mac threads, you see people recommending waiting for the M3, which could be anywhere from 6 to 9 months away still, just because it’s on the new 3 nm process.
And I’m sure those same people are going to be complaining when the M3 is announced as a 10% CPU performance increase, a 20% GPU increase, and maybe an extra hour of battery at most just like the iPhones.
Also, as far as I know, Apple hasn’t lied about anything. If anything, they’ve underestimated their new chips, at least in comparison to the benchmarks.
As for battery, they literally promised that it would be identical battery life to the previous 14 series, so the fact we’re seeing any improvement at all is a nice bonus.

I'll take these tests over random user anecdotes any day of the week. You don't need to use the iPhone same way the tests are run, but they provide a good comparison.
Ugh I’m concerned about the 15 Pro. I was hoping for better battery. Not sure I can do another year with bad battery life. Might have to switch to the Pro Max.
